Nothing new with several companies putting their branding on generic radios. Remember the Binatone 5*, Rotel 240, York 863 etc who all used the same board? Indeed the current President Lincoln 2 and Alinco dr135 both use almost identical boards and the CRT9900 has a very similar board as well.

Can you use homebase burners indoors and mobile ? What about pre amps ? Lol 😚 😜

Great video Ben . I’m new to all this and would like to know if this set up would be good for a mobile set up (old Landy) and with the amp /burner would you get massive range or ? Hope that makes sense lol thanks Nick

It’ll be ideal and as for range you’ll get 20-40 miles reliably but very possibly much more. I often did 200-300 miles in my TD5 with this set up speaking to those people with funny accents 😂😆🤘🏻

I'm sure thunderpole are just re-branding other manufacturers gear. I've had a Delta LT-318 for about 6 years or more, it was also a Luiton 318, but Luiton stopped making the 318 2 years earlier (2014 if not earlier) Then Years Later Thunderpole bring out the T 2000 ..... SAME RADIO!!! I think Thunderpole are buying up unsold old stock! It's hilarious that they use the phrase "LIKE NO OTHER'

It looks to me like there is a second or so delay between you pressing the PTT and the Radio going into transmit? I have heard that this is an issue with some of the newer radios, don't know why. Interesting video anyway.

Some radios quickly check the SWR and other "circuitry" before allowing the "circuit closed' command, and allowing power into the output (TX) circuit. It's a safety feature so you can't blow up the output IC.

A pre amp should go last in line before the antenna

Depends on the burner. Some larger wattage burner has got preamps built in

I’m convinced these are cheap Chinese radios with a thunderpole badge on ive had 2 break on me and to be fair they have sorted it but now I’ve got a president McKinley does ssb ect I personally wouldn’t advise people to waste there money on these like I feel I did .
