I had a 1975 Honda 550 super sport years ago. Do the math, I'll be 63 in August. In 1982 is when I owned that 550, to be exact. I'd forgotten how great those old Honda 4 cylinders sound, and yours seems to have a lot of idle lope to it, which with that exhaust sounds killer. Something all of us back then took for granted was the spoke rims, and you really made yours stand out by painting the rims a satin black color. My best friend from high school had a 1977 750 super sport. His was red, my 550 was metallic orange. Man I'd love to have another 550 . I'd just make it a modified vintage bike. Probably spend half my day looking at it. BTW I'm still riding after 45 years..... I retired from being an aircraft mechanic with Delta Airlines in August 2020, and now spend my time traveling on my 2013 Yamaha FJR1300a. I'm jealous of the shop you have son..... It reminds me of the cover of the book; Shop Class As Soul Craft . If you haven't read it, do. People like you see the beauty in a machine, and many can't. There's a basic spiritual thing with some of us. I'm the same way. It's why I became an aircraft mechanic. I knew that no matter how long I got to know an aircraft type, that I'd always be learning and enjoying myself. Also read ; Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. There's real intrinsic nourishment of the soul that takes place with working with your hands and building or completing something. The machine and you are both living molecules. I can remember years ago the old timers had symbiotic relationships with their cars, or tractors that they'd had and gotten to know for years. Then they'd sell that car and the new owner would have it break down on them. Like it was angry at the original owner. I think you're the type that will, like myself, enjoy, agree with, and appreciate those two books.

Well thank you much! I've been working my way through Zen but ill look into the other as well!

Still one of the coolest bikes ever made. Nice to see you bring the old girl back to life. Had a new candy garnet brown 750 K1. Still think of it daily. Best sound, beautiful looking engine, and everything else. Love my new Z900's , VStrom and SV, but I'd rather be riding one of these in a much freer (is that a word?) time. Nice. Short down time for you with only three months. We usually have 50/50. As of three years ago I ride through all of winter, except this last. I've got the KLR torn apart to make a build of it finally, and something my wife and I can travel comfortably, on and off road with all the way down to Florida and back. First ride was with the MV this past Friday. Turned out the weatherman was wrong, that's rare 🤣 Instead of nice home nice warm and sunny. I was taking different routes to avoid the rain clouds. But the system was moving so fast from the north, the temps dropped quick and I still got rained and snowed on (living along the mountains here in Alberta, we can still get snow in the middle of summer). So I can still say I rode in the snow, just not on the preferred bike of choice. I still have to send you a pick of my project with the NWT stuff. As I dug further into the engine, it got worse. Maybe I'll send you a pick of what I started with, and then next winter I can update you on the progress of the project. This CB900C was supposed to be the winter build for going down to Florida, but that got put aside for another year. The back rack on your CB750 really make me miss riding the KLR, having something to secure saddle bags to.

This might seem like a strange thing to say, but you work a motorcycle the same way I do. My Dad was an expert big rig driver and as a boy riding alongside him in his manual shift pickup trucks, I was always fascinated by how smooth and efficient he was with his inputs and how he was so in sync with the machine that it always seemed to just purr happily along. Now, in the fifty years that have passed, I've always taken joy in trying to do it like he did. When I watch your riding videos, it almost feels like I'm the one riding because you work the bike the same exact way I would. Make of that what you will LOL

I'm coming home from a business trip. My bucket list was to restore a 1975 Honda CB 360T like the one I owned in College. Found one and took it down to the bones and started the restore. Then Cancer. They took my lung and my hope (I though to finish this project that meant so much to me) That was a few years ago and I survived 7 surgeries that I wasnt suppose to. It was a sign, so I began restoring little by little as I could. Now I've got her back together and have a singe stray ground left to run down but have all the new electrical in and running perfectly. When I get back I'm going to take her on her first restored ride. I'm so excited.

Nice! Hope you can get non-ethanol fuel where you live. That is all I run in my vintage bikes. I cannot imagine a bike sitting for 3 months and starting up right away without it. BTW I'll buy you the kick starter rubber for your CB750!

I've never bothered with non ethanol and have never had an issue. Most of the time I go much longer with sitting. Proper storage is very important. I appreciate it but must pass on the Kickstart rubber. I purposely keep it off to annoy people who fixate on it instead of the fact the bike has been brought back to life and is on the road at 50 years old lol

I actually have a Bandit 1200 as well. Not really hearing the resemblance outside of being an inline 4

Just stumbled upon your channel. Loved the cb750 revival. Just got my 71 cb750 back on the road today! Grin ear to ear all day! Thing rips! Any suggestions on preferred cell phone holder for bikes when needing gps? Feels so wrong...
