One of my favourite 'shows' genuine chaps, keep them coming all the best from London UK

Good video. Seen it for years on KZbin. If you use a small tool like a snall thin screwdriver to press or lift and release the latch inside the zip tie block you can save them to be used again. Been doing this for decades with all sizes of zip ties when possible to get to the little arm depending on where the tie is used for access. Silicone spray if used as rim slip lube will remain slippery and can cause a tire to spin on the wheel and tear the valve stem of the tube. OK if in a pinch situation on the side of the road but,... I prefer using the old standard baby powder. Silicone spray is used on automobiles on the door rubbers,.. and can stop water leaks and wind noises and make the door open and close easier. Can also be used in the window tracks where the glass slides to make them slide easier. Simply wipe it off any paint you may get it onto (the silicone will not damage the paint).

I wished I would have known that trick yrs ago. Try dry Teflon spray instead of silicone.

I recall the 450 or maybe 650 with a brown seat (maybe special edition?). I think a brown seat would look great on that bike anyhow
@BrickHouseBuilds2 сағат бұрын
There were cb500ts that had the brown seat and paint actually

Back in 80s a mate of mine had a CB250 Man that thing was Fast the 450 looks fantastic considering it's age the weirdest thing about buy old style bikes is the rim sizes with a nice set of 17" rims laced onto those hubs and maybe triple discs and some 4 spot calipers that bike would be ready to take on many of our modern day 450 & 650 twin counterparts. It was great hearing it come to life when you got the other carb working no rebuild 😅😁 classic Great video really enjoyed watching cheers mate

custom stitching and maybe a slightly better material would be cool. some gold trim stitching maybe?? also - you may want to try silicone lube spray on the rubber grommets vs WD40, it doesn't get sticky after a while like WD, and brings back some of the suppleness of the rubber.
@BrickHouseBuilds6 сағат бұрын
Glad you liked it! That was silicone just WD40 brand

Love the Thursday videos, especially this one! Can't wait to see the Bearded Mechanic colab. And the water trick with the tank will work, but you have to keep an eye on it. If you forget about that tank in the freezer it will peel open like a banana! But absolutely try it!
@BrickHouseBuilds6 сағат бұрын
That sound scary! I'd 100% forget it in the freezer and ruin it so its probably best I avoid that
@henryhawk97810 сағат бұрын
Never had I heard of freezing water to get a dent out. Cutting it out like you said, isn't going to work, unless you re-do the tank. Looks like you have a shop full of fun going on. Enjoyed the video BJ AND RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!

Very enjoyable video mate😊. I had a CB450 back in the late 70s. Had a dent like that, almost the same spot, but on the left. Tried heaps of different things to get the dent out, to no avail. So, filled it with about half a ton of solder and filed it smooth, then repainted the tank. Bondo would probably work just as well😊
@BrickHouseBuilds13 сағат бұрын
All the tanks online had a similar dent lol. I'll keep it as is though

OEM grips and find oem seat. Lose the pods. Those carbs much prefer the paper filters. I would not ride a bike without mirrors. How old are those tires? I would also replace the oem rubber brake lines with Galfer SS lines. The color matched black lines and fittings would look great. Its a Honda so of course it would start and run after years of neglect.I have two 83 CB 1000C's and you cannot kill them.
@BrickHouseBuilds13 сағат бұрын
They prefer a good tune which can be had with factory filters or pods. Didn't have mirrors to ride with. As shown the tires are from 2006. Brake lines seem good actually.

Use the inter tube & pour plenty of boing hot water over the dent, while putting the pressure to the tube.
@BrickHouseBuilds13 сағат бұрын
Already tried that. This dent cant be removed
@vinchezmo886414 сағат бұрын
Great trick, I can’t wait to try that myself. Don’t forget to put the yellow dot (on the side wall of the tire) right over the valve stem. It’s the lightest part of the tire. Counter balancing the heavier part of the tube, the valve stem.

Hopefully it works well for you

Ahh, SV650, they've intrigued me for ages and I finally got to ride one recently (pretty new, fuel injected) and loved how it felt. It just seems that 'it's its own thing' and doesn't want to be anything different. Seems like a really versatile platform in principle, but I haven't really seen aesthetic rebuilds that make it look much better than stock, and scramblerising it doesn't seem to have gained much traction (no pun intended) online either. I jumped on your SV650 playlist when I spotted it, quite a while after I started following, but it was pretty much getting it back up and running well, which is fair enough, and maybe lends credence to what I've said above.
