You did a great job. if you like the loud you can cut the pipes at the end where they taper back to small, after the flare. you can get a muffler pipe cutter at Harbor Freight cheap. or cut the baffles out of the end. ( harder but you keep the same pipe look.) once your baffles are gone though, they will be gone. Straight pipes are legal in Louisiana so check your state laws. they also make factory headers that you can take out and put back the baffle whenever you want. Kerker was an old school header Mfg. maybe google that name. Kerker. Congratulations... your are now OLD SKOOL doin' it up right.

Thank you so much! I modified the mufflers to make them a bit louder and they sound GREAT! Make sure you stay tuned for my upcoming video to hear how they sound!

This is why you register the bike first, make sure it's street legal and *THEN* you turn it into a cafe racer/bobber/whatever the fuck you want.

@muddyfences55598 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the finished bike. Now that it is registered, I would look up your state laws on motorcycle requirements, and I would also talk to some different shops. Some of the issues you were failed on seem a bit made up (rear fender, mirror style, side panels). I only say this because I have ran into situations where one shop will fail a vehicle using their interpretation of the rules, while another will pass it based on the true state requirements. Good luck.

If im not wrong that yellow spot on the tire should be in line with the vavle because that is where the rim is the heaviest. Otherwise great video, that bike sounds amazing!!
@GoldGuyRides8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We balanced after changing it but thanks for telling me what that yellow dot was, I was always curious!
@T0BBi948 жыл бұрын
I have also heard that balancing is not that important unless you are racing or going really fast. My current bike (from -82) has tires that you dont need to balance and on my previous bike (from -89) I put the tires on wrong, yellow dot was like yours and didnt balance them and couldnt feel any unbalance due to the tire. The guy I bought it from was a motorcycle mechanic and said he didnt bother with balancing tires because it wasnt necessary on most bikes (dont take my word but unless I observe the opposite I wont balance my tires)
@izaak15098 жыл бұрын
I think the tyres was a no bloody brainer dude. But man I still think you were pretty lucky to get this for cheap and didn't have to do much to get if fixed and back on the road.

Just for your own knowledge , the yellow dot on the side wall should be placed right at the valve stem. That marks the lightest side of the tire and is suppose to offset the weight of the valve stem. Good job though. Now take all the crap back off and put it back to the way you like it.
