Likely the problem with the carb is you need to replace the float. I had the exact same problem with an 86 Kawasaki concours I worked on. I even tested the floats the same way you did by pulling up on them it stops the gas letting go the gas comes out. The problem is the float likely has a hole in it you can't see and is not floating when you put the bowl back on. Anyway I replaced one float on mine problem fixed.

For anyone trying to do this, it still works!!! 12-17-2024🎉 i got cable from Walmart online. It took me about two or three days of just looking for the cable, that's the only place I found the cable with a similar descriptions. I tried posting the link to the cable but somehow it keeps getting deleted. I just tuned my car for emissions pass and also did a verbal tune last night super easy highly recommend way cheaper than anything else. still possible went through a bunch of forums, most of them said it was not possible. Only issue I ran into I had to use an older version of ECU flash 1.3. 😊 whenever you're going to set up your ftdiI cable. the ECUFLASH already has that downloaded into the file you download from ECUFLASH MAKE SURE WHATEVER ECU FLASH YOU'RE RUNNING IS THE SAME FDT I DRIVERS YOU'RE RUNNING FOR THE CABLE.

Gas can permeate the pores in the metal which is why the tank popped off. If you pressurize the tank with a few psi you can spray soapy water on the tank to look for leaks. Don't pressurize too high unless you want to turn it into a frag grenade.

I don't what to say. As an experienced bike engine builder, there were SO many cringe factors: 1. Your "honing marks" are called "cross-hatch". And that cylinder is COMPLETELY glazed over. That cylinder was in dire need of a re-hone, but you said it was good to put back together..... It was not. 2. I saw the bolt you missed before you even hooked up the case spreader. Your lack of attention to detail is concerning. And the fact you admitted that you already did it your first time proves it. 3. That Kickstart pawl should've been rebuilt. As soon as you actually kick it, it will start slipping again. 4. When you smacked the endshaft of the crank with a hammer, my butt straight puckered and I jumped off the couch. But I'll conclude with leaving you with some positive feedback. You seem to have a good idea of what you're doing. Just slow down a bit when disassembling. You should NEVER need to use blunt force when engine building. And you did a great job with the actual edit! But some of the footage was.... whoa.

A little heads-up, GoldGuy, ride with a multi tool, at 124 miles I had a throttle error code locking me out; forget about cus serv., ain't gonna happen. It's the board not the throttle. Unscrew the Phillips on the display, unplug the board leads that go to throttle, reconnect, you've reset that segment of the board. The manufs of many scooters are using the same boards. They've gone to a twist throttle solving that problem, cheapest solution for them I assume. After reset it's been fine for these 200 more miles. You'll want a roll of traction tape for the rear fender (effectively extending the deck). It's sturdy enough. Good video.

I'm leaving a second, cuz I was listening I'm flying so I have screen readers I was listening to other comments and in the back of my mind I was saying it sounds like this guy is like repairing his bike that is a customer's bike and if that's the case well yeah I wouldn't never never bring a bike for you to fix or a car or a toaster with that fact I figured it was a friend or something like that but even then it sounds it's sort of like it was the customers by I wonder if you would show this video to their to your customers and what they think of it and maybe they're down with it and that's okay but I don't think that's a way to treat somebody else's bike especially an old one and you know you are riding on what you claimed the rotted Wheels with the bike or going all over the place like it had a pliable frame or something like that yeah not too smart and when you took that the motor loosened it up I didn't have to see it but I knew that oil was going to come out I'm doing burnouts like that with dry rotted tires on a motorcycle that's in syncand again as I stated in the other comment I had a 75 GT 550 didn't wobble at all it wasn't it wasn't a canyon by but it certainly you know took one is fine it didn't wobble with it it went straight when you wanted to do it stopped when you wanted it too so yeah there's something else wrong with the bike maybe it was in an accident in the frame got out of alignment the forks might have been who knows I can't say cuz I can't see and even if I could it's a small video anyway best of luck to you bro and live and learn but yeah try not to do that kind of stuff with other people's bikes and the I'm assuming you're going to be responsible for the starter cuz that's the way it goes so anyway stay safe and enjoy your riding because as a blind person who will started to go blind in the mid-90s who lived and breathed motorcycles and anything with an engine you take things for granted because if I could still see I would have still been riding over these last 30 years and I'd be riding today sincerely David Raphael AKA Bob the blind bedroom guitars

Thank you for the video I own the 1975 gt550 in Black I bought it used at a Suzuki dealer in Providence in about late 77 I had it till 1981 I used it as an everyday ride I lived on the East Coast Northeast so didn't ride really in the winter of course I have my cars for that but yeah the bike was pretty sturdy and it went straight fine and it went in the turn it was stable it was a I am 78 I took it from Providence to New York City and the New York City up to Laconia for bike weekend and then all the way up to Maine and then back down again I used to take the bike from Providence to New York City on a regular basis and back round trip and of course all around New England and I really just put tires and batteries in it I don't think it was ever in the shop for any reason anything that had to be done I did myself and it was only just tune ups and things like that but I could be started with your hands I used to start the bike with my hand not get started with my hand once in awhile just to show people and the bike will just turn right overon the trip to Laconia I went with the with two people one had a goldwing 1000 and then this is 78 and the other one my sister's boyfriend had a tiger a 650 tiger or I might have even been a 750 tiger with one with one carburetor one longer don't remember that particularly but I was nose and those with the triumph performance wise it was faster somewhere around the kancamagus highway in Vermont and it has no trouble you know taking someone on the back you can go anywhere with it or I was able to go anywhere with it it had plenty of power for that I remember once driving from New York City to Providence at night in the pouring rain it rains almost the whole time I was hugging the back of of 18-wheelers to try and keep the rain off me getting in their draft safest thing to do but I was trying to do anything to keep the rain off of me it was the worst time I ever had on a motorcycle LOL what's up I didn't skip a beat in the Florence essential rain for hours back then the Connecticut turnpike i-95 which is how I went from New York to Providence all the time still have toll boothsanyway it was pretty cool to hear the bike again after all these years I'm blind I had to stop driving and riding in the mid-90s my last bike was a hodgepodge put together a bike that I put together it was a 71 1200 shovelhead engine in a 79 lowrider frame that was my second Harley my first one was a brand new 81 Sturgis 1340 I prefer those I want to hollies at about 4:05 and I once I got on a Harley and I got used to it and 81 I really didn't look back until it was stolen from in front of my house long story and I ended up not having enough money to buy another Harley and I got a really good deal on an 82 CV 750 cost them which was a really great bike I enjoyed that bike 10 doors in California San Francisco and then around 87 I put together the the lowrider Alexa sold the 750 actually at 7:50 I turned into a rigid frame stripped it down to you know strip that down completely lower the volume I lost about 10 mi or so off the top end but I got a lot of low and talk which I love because the Harley's had so much longer anyway I'm all over the place here so I'll stop sincerely David Rafael AKA Bob the blind bedroom guitarsPS these videos and other videos I can't see them so I'm glad you mentioned the what's the time was for 0 to 60 but it really stirs up a lot of emotions because I loved I lived and breathed motorcycles and it was really great on the west coast so you can ride them while you're around I'll stop you LOL

Don't give up guy, I'm really enjoying your videos. I'm going through the same thing with my Seca turbo right now. After years of trying to fix just one problem at a time I finally took the carbs off and completely went through them and "wet set" all of them to ensure there was no needle and seat issues. The bike has never started so quickly after that. Also check out doing a fuel pressure regulator upgrade (Holley PN #12-887), your factory one is probably junk causing way too much fuel pressure.
