The throttle cable is suppsosed to route between the right fork ear and headlight bucket. The joint rests on the right carb. The cable length is key. If its works though keep your set up the way it is

Close enough! It’s working great and like you said…gonna keep it.

I've heard over torquing the carb manifold bolts can warp the carb body and create a problem with the slide...but I assumed it happened over years of doing it incorrectly. You were literally distorting the carb body as you turned the bolt then letting it go back to normal as you loosen it. That was really interesting. What brand coils does that bike have?

Nuances for sure.

My slides are killing me! I try that and they are just to tight , thinking i should just sand the cavity

Don’t tighten them too much when you put them on. It twists the body slightly. Are they tight off the bike?

@@KeepOnWrenching Wasnt that , I polished them and worked great had some nicks in edges

It’s tempting to sand it but I wouldn’t. Is the slide itself cleaned? That stuff is pretty finicky. You shouldn’t need to sand it. Might do more harm than good. I’d be paranoid doing that at least.

@@KeepOnWrenching agree ,did not sand ,just polish and the end nick was gone

Maybe there’s a layer of polish sticking it up? Maybe try soak in gas and clean to ensure you’re at bare metal?
