5:30 According to Wikipedia, Fargo trucks were sold in Canada by Chrysler-Plymouth dealers until 1972. The brand had been absorbed by Dodge in the U.S. in the 1930s, but survived longer in much of the world, last used in Turkey in 1985. Also recall that RBC Royal Bank was the first Canadian bank to advertise on TV in 1967, although the caisses populares in Quebec (Desjardins) sponsored financial-management shows earlier, according to their respective websites.

Seems like the monitor they did the kinescope from was having a bit of trouble with the picture itself (unless that's the camera itself).

The first Plymouth spot is a U.S. one with "Chrysler Canada" tag--the Dodge is a Great White North version of the American campaign--the Chrysler has the same spokesperson as in the States but not the imagery...in fact there was none in the U.S. commercials, only empty space.

Thinly veiled ripoffs of inoffensive songs like "Sunday Will Never Be the Same" and "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" was the best that Chrysler Canada's ad agency could come up with?
