I had a bowel perforation and went septic and was left on a gurney at HSC ER for 8 hrs. I had inky initial bloodwork but could not get anyone to check my vitals. I left asking triage nurse if it was safe to leave ? She said leave if you want. I fell on flood in waiting room. Get off floor. I went home to call a second ambulance who had to rush me back to hsc as I only had two hours to live. You shouldn’t have to leave an ER to advocate for saving your own life seeking medical attention.
