It ain’t easy being a Canadian actor

The irony is if the Canadian industry can actually keep it's talent, Canada would've been one hell of a powerhouse country in the entertainment and media sector. If Ryan Reynolds stayed and brought his empire to Canada, if Dwayne Johnson stayed (for those who don't know, Dwayne is half Canadian with a Canadian dad and grew up in Canada and even played for one of Canada's football teams), if Mr. King of the World James Cameron stayed, if Elon Musk stayed (he's similar to Dwayne Johnson where he's half Canadian with a Canadian parent and grew up in Canada), heck if freakin Lionsgate studios stayed just to name a few, Canada would be one hell of a powerhouse country that doesn't need to rely on outside productions. Many of which ironically was created by Canadians.

I never understood why shows like THE GOOD DOCTOR need to import so much American cast. Like I get bringing a couple stars liek Freddie Highmore and Richard Schiff up, but surely Vancouver actors could've filled out the rest of the main cast as opposed to just bit parts and the occasional guest spot.

Hard or not, Canadian actors are fucking amazing! When I think Canadian actors, I think Michael Shanks, Lexa Doig, Victor Webster, Victoria Pratt, Tom McCamus, Lauren Lee Smith, Forbes March, Karen Cliche, Peter Outerbridge, Elliot Page, Joshua Jackson, and Maxim Roy.

That is a good point. To be fair, this series does seem geared toward an English speaking audience; there's also no mention in this series, so far as I have seen, about indigenous Canadian actors. Obviously, both deserve recognition, and I hope that they get it. I'd love more stuff from Broey if she feels qualified to address those perspectives, or it would be a great opportunity for someone from the French Canadian community to approach the CBC about it!

But it's not Quebec that is basically colonized by Hollywood studios. It's not Quebec where English speaking actors fly out from.
