I love the Janeane Garofalo that showed up on Fox. She was one of the few celebrities brave enough to oppose the Iraq war - and she was right to do so as was Natalie Maines. She was attacked for it and she was correct! There were not any WMDs, none of the justifications for the war were actually true, the war was a very expensive disaster, and it didn't happen even close at all as we were told that it would.

I agree. Very intelligent woman. I would be very happy to meet her. I realise this next comment is shallow, but I've always had a bit of a crush on her. I've no doubt she's had some plastic surgery over the years but she looks great. One of those few women who grow more attractive with age. For all I know, she's probably on the wrong team anyway. Just my opinion. For those who disagree, no need to argue with me. We all have our own opinions & tastes.
@RonJammin10 жыл бұрын
Not shallow at all, infact I've always found her quite attactive. It's rare to find a woman who's pretty AND interesting, she seems like the real deal. I'm not surprised she's not into the whole 'social networking' thing, she grew up without it & has been doing standup for so long that it's not something she needs.

geez what a neurotic, how does she get any sleep? aging beautifully, we all want to look and act young but knowing your limits is a sign of maturity, i see janeane aging into a brilliant intellectual and progressives like say, susan sarandon. intelligence is beauty. those six or seven years of air america are iconic. for me janeane is more of a humorist than a stand up, it's a much broader realm of work, some of her funniest stuff is calling the majority report impersonating sarah palin or whatever nutball right winger is in the news, her riffing is really good.

Janeane got booted from SNL simply because she's a lousy sketch comedienne. It had nothing to do with her beliefs, because she was/is a massive feminist liberal and fit right in on that basis. She said SNL. was a boys' club. Well, before her, they put Jan Hooks in every sketch. And after her, they put Kirsten Wiig in every sketch, BECAUSE HOOKS AND WIIG WERE MORE TALENTED SKETCH COMEDIENNES. Janeane has made her mark in stand-up and she should have never left it.

I'll tell you why people give backlash for speaking on 'social justice' issues, because with you it's all condescending lip service. You haven't adopted any children from Africa, haven't seen you in any areas where tragedies have struck, helping out, all you do is talk. I was a fan in the 90's, but then when you started acting like/trying to be like Bill Maher, that's when I stopped. And how hard is it to get a Facebook page or a Twitter?
