Whoever insisted Janeane Garofalo only gets eight minutes either doesn't know her standup and doesn't get that she can't operate with a ticking clock unless she turns it into a schtick... OR they DO know her stand up and how dare they! How dare they! You know she is the Fran Lebowitz of our generation! How dare anyone try to cage her with time. She's beyond all of space and time. Janeane Garofalo is an international treasure. It would be difficult to get a bank to calculate her value among the trust funds and stock portfolios and precious jewels left by others. She's in a CLASS by herself and the TEACHER threw up his hands and left to fly to Jamaica. We're on our own trying to educate ourselves about just how much of an international treasure Janeane Garofalo truly is. You can't just say there's a one with a whole bunch of zeroes after it. I think the symbol of PI would factor in at some point and all the calculators of the universe would implode. Janeane Garofalo is an international treasure divided by pi. There we go. That's a good start to figuring out the math. Could I recite this cacophony of words in less than eight minutes? You think I got that in me? One more thing! Douglas Adams once said "the answer to the question of Life The Universe and Everything is FORTY-TWO" but the question to that answer is Janeane Garofalo with a one and a bunch of zeroes and then you add the PI symbol and all known reality "all those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain." You heard me! Roy Batty's final monologue in Blade Runner was FORTY-TWO words long! Everything is connected! Tears in rain! Peace! I'm out!

Janeane Garofalo has one of the sharpest wits I've ever encountered in my 64 years. That she doesn't burn the stages of stand-up comedy across the country is an outrage and attributable to one reason alone-----fkn politics. I remember talking to a guy I knew who was a stand-up back when the material actually had to be clever, well timed and thought out, witty, and therefore, funny. He told me that he and some of his cronies were in the wings watching as this kind of unfunny stream-of-consciousness crap (with, of course, the invariable liberal overtones, Garofalo's in particular) began to seep into the field and going, "Man, if this is the sort of thing you people want....".
