Fresh back from #wondercon #2024 in #anaheim. I arrive back to find a #package waiting for me from #cbcs. Thats right! A #cbcsunboxing of #graded #comicbooks! There is a #grail #comic in there of #avangers 4, first #captainamerica in the #silverage as four more wating to be revealed!

Nice surprise for you on the Mark Jewlers insert. Any reason you went with CBCS over CGC? I also don’t get my books pressed prior to submitting. Seems like a lot of people do!

The reality is. In my early days of collecting CGC just seemed like a club that I wasn’t a part of. When I first looked into doing it many years ago, I felt it was over complicated. And now that I am grading on a consistent basis, I started doing it when cbcs was still an upstart. My first experience was rough, but after that, it was always smooth. They overdeliver and under promised, I like the quality of their cases a lot better. Case and point if you look at my first video from Wondercon this year, I bought a book that I dropped CGC where the case just basically shattered. I have kind of abused my CBCS cases in the past just from moves and everything else, not a scratch do they show. I think quality wise Cbcs has a better overall product. CGC has the name and the prestige just my opinion and the pricing and turnaround time is better.

180 and 181 hulk should be equal in prices per grade point IMO

I agreed. I get the appeal and higher price for 181. It has the much sexier cover which is a big deal to most collectors. The cover that presents well. However, as a first appearance. I think 180. But we are seeing their value skyrocketing for 180z

so whats it cost you sent them in is it like 35$ each to grade and slab? or is it more because of the value?...personally I figure it only really worth slabbing if a book is worth around 75$ ish, otherwise youd never get what you invest into encapsulating them? and not be able to read them nomore.??

Pricing varies. Anywhere from 22-140 per pool and before any additional services. I agree in principal with your pricing stipulation for grading. However, for me, I don’t grade for the investment and or the turnaround. Mostly everything I buy and grade stays in my personal collection. I do it mostly for preservation purposes. But I agree if it’s not worth more than like 75 or $80 and you’re looking to potentially sell or trade. What’s the point in grading?
