Great first day at #wondercon in #anaheim #california. Ready for a great #holidayweekend of #comicbooking and #vlogging. Only one mishap. A very #expensive mishap. I dropped a #cgc #gradedcomic I was partially interested in buying. Watch and find out! At the very least, we made new friends over at #bluechipcomics!

Aw man I feel so bad for you. But kudos for buying it. Being a seller I have to tell u not everyone would do that. They blame it on someone else and they have blamed it on me. But yeah. Stuff happens. It happens to us all. What a fun book.

appreciate that! I was fortunate enough to know i was interested in the book so it was all good. I appreciate that the dealer also knew it wasn't intentional and actually simply suggested a re-holder. We all came out good - and even started a relationship for future deals and even offered me a tour of their facility in the future. Always find the positive.

What I want to know about is the signature and the remarque on that Hulk 181. That looks sick! And it's a yellow label, so it was done in house at CGC.

Cool video, I’ve always wanted to go to wondercon. I mean no offense by this but I wouldn’t have paid much for that book. The signature and remark is cool but in my opinion since that book came out 5 years later, that in my eyes is just a Spanish reprint and doesn’t count as the first appearance of Wolverine. It’s a cool book but still Something I’ve never seen before but I probably wouldn’t have paid more than $300 for

I get it and no offense taken. To me every book has 3 separate values. FMV, collector value and sentimental value. I think FMV on this book. Raw. No verified signatures, as an international first appearance. 350-500$. Collector value. As someone who looks to collect books in very select niche’s. Being a Spanish, first appearance book… worth a little more then FMV. Now, sentimental collector. Though not the US Hulk 181, but the Spanish 1st appearance signed and sketched by Roy Thomas and signed on the inside by Herb Trimpe the co-creator. It was worth the money to me as a literal one of a kind book with historical significance. I totally get your position though.

Interesting that CGC's notes would list that as the first appearance of Wolverine when it was published five years later.

I’m get what you are saying, however it was his first appearance (first Spanish version). I was little shocked it listed as a hulk 181, but that’s how it’s listed on their site too with the “la masa” in the notes.

Sadly. They closed their store years ago. At least the one I was familiar with. I miss it. He did signings all the time.

Granted, I know it’s not an official 181, but I love unique books like this! A huge part of history. Heck. CGC lists it as a 181- so I’ll take it! Be sure to check our upcoming videos for some of the other amazing pick ups from #wondercon

Hulk #180 - 1st appearance of Wolverine. #181 - 2nd appearance #182 - 3rd appearance GSX - 4th appearance X-Men #94 - 5th appearance. 😊

Agreed! Better question. Do you feel 1st print, intentional copies still count as first appearances?

@@DukeCityExplorer For example, I bought the La Masa 40 (Spanish Edition of 181-182, but came out in '79- 4 years after Hulk 181 in the states.) My copy from CGC lists it as Incredible Hulk 181 and first appearance of Wolverine, but a spanish edition. There are oterh variants too. Like a German edition that came out in 1999 - Thats a first printing, but some list it as a re print. I have heard passionate arguments for both. I am gonna do an in depth video on it soon. I find it to interesting to not.

@@teslatechtravel you're talking about "international" books. Most are considered reprints, but I enjoy collecting them for the different cover art.

@@teslatechtravel some of those international/foreign books are a cheaper alternative than the actual American version.
