Taking people to isolated areas where the heli is not on site for rescue is asking for tragedy.

lol they were IN the helicopter... And heli-ski operators in B.C. have a whole fleet of machines at their disposal. The entire POINT of heli-skiing is quite literally to be in an isolated area. They were about 10-15 minutes away from the rest of the team. Stuff like this happens, that's part of the assumed risk when you sign up to participate.

Why was the helicopter flying so low? This accident was prectically bound to happen..

It's heli-skiing. The helicopters pick you up and drop you off at the top of the mountain. It has its risks, which everybody involved are aware of.

Insurance shouldn't pay out there was a order in place NO backcountry in BC was opened!! All province was closed... helicopter company is at fault!

That's not how heli-skiing in B.C. works. These companies have their own, exclusive tenure of Crown Land in which they operate. There are no "orders" that prevent them from operating. They have a private lodge in the mountains and an area in which they are the sole commercial, mechanized operators. Their lodge is staffed with guides and pilots and they fly every day, every week, for the season. And they are in charge of assessing conditions for themselves. They are members of Helicat Canada, are licensed commercial operators, and know more about flying and guiding in the backcountry than you or I know about our own hands.

@@FourT6and22 Yeah, as if the entire province was "closed" to backcountry use - good luck enforcing that idea even if it was a possibility.
