@@VintageCR tbf, diamond is the rank where their mechanics aren't quite there, and their decision making also isn't also quite there, so if a game isn't going how they "think" it should it all goes down the drain. Given another opportunity with eyes on the match, I am sure he would have performed much better

Being the difference between winning and losing doesn’t make you a carry, it makes you a teammate. Setting up your own plays and scoring off them with no help from teammates makes you a carry (offensively)

I've noticed alot of the smurfs who boost people will make it very subtle. They'll hold back really hard and only pop off when necessary for the win... and they'll make intentional mistakes when it's safe to do so, attempting to create an illusion that they aren't a smurf.

Script is pretty much they come out and put 2 goals in with consistent but not flashy play, sit back and let their teammate play until/unless the game gets tied then push the gas again. If behind or tied with < 1 min remaining, anything goes to get goals on the board.

If you run tracker live as the overworf extension, you can see straight away Diamond to champ is absolute riddled with smurfs. They'll be showing GC2 in 2s with only a 100 games played on account and be triple resetting on you in 1s in D2 WITH insane recoveries. As soon as I see those accounts I warn my team in the public chat that player "is on a smurf account" just so they know we're on to them.

Nah nah nah nah nah nah Ima use my 1 time as a 1609 peak 3v3 player and top 20 hoops player at one time. He carried that game. one of his team mates had 1 save and 1 shot whilst he had 4 goals and 4 shots. He saved them the game with high level execution. He carried. Then he scored the final goal. Both his team mates had 0 goals. Although 1 of them has good amount of assists in a high scoring game they could have made his life a lot easier with at least 1 goal or some clutch saves to ease his mind.

Hey CBell, I played tennis at a semi-professional level and trained most of the day. I had to make a lot of sacrifices, especially socially. There was a time and couple years ago coming back from an injury, for about a year that I felt like I wasn’t improving at all. I’d go out to practice in the cold dead of winter playing 1-2 hours against the wall and honestly it made me question my love for the game. I honestly took a lot of stress off myself because I just decided to play a little less and trade improvement for happiness. But I NEVER stopped and what I learned was that stagnant phase was actually my glass ceiling. And once I finally broke through it my improvement has been exponential ever since. What I’m trying to say is cut yourself some slack but also realize you’re on the cusp of massive improvement, you just can’t feel it yet. And the fact you’re still trying for SSL tells me you’ve got that impulsiveness required to get there. Just keep trucking on and we’ll support you until you get there!

As a Champ 2 I'd be willing to give that "smurf" the benefit of the doubt. I've seen all sorts of different kinds of players in Champ 2, from people who can't speedflip to people who hit double resets into your top corner. Depending on the day, I'm either getting accused of smurfing or getting accused of being boosted - feel like C2 is just the wild west.

I have hit double resets and reset musty doubles in c1 lobbies myself and was called smurf plenty times. However I have also had single digit games and completely whiffed open nets or scored own goals. It really depends on your consistency in Champ rank and the lower GC ranks too..

@@Jaxznyy98 Yeah fr sometimes I see a player in C3 and I'm like "how are they higher rank than me? Their mechanics are terrible..." but then I keep watching and they always rotate back post and they are just very consistent at what they do... Literally all you need to get to GC is read the play, position well, and get consistently decent touches. That's basically it. Fancy mechs can help, but they aren't necessary. If I could play at my peak consistently, I'd be GC easily.

I just started playing. About 100 hours in game. I can tell you that the lower ranks seem to be VERY toxic. I still can't do a lot of things but I float between Plat 3 and Diamond 1. I have games where I dominate and games I look like a silver. Then the person name "my teammate is throwing" says I'm ball chasing when I have 5 saves and he has none lol. I know I don't always know where to be but its frustrating.

For the first case... He had 7 saves because his team mate was consistently fumbling the ball and leaving him in 1v2's. His team mate had clearly not done any training. Was not confident. And must have gotten a lucky streak of carry team-mates and smurfs which would have also been annoyed to be there so he is boosted. This Usually happens because in diamond and champ a lot of players team up to get out of those ranks and leave the solo queuers with bad random team mates and have to beat all kinds of good players.

When I regularly play with my friends that are like gold 1 and I'm only champ 1 I pull then up into d1/d2 just by outscoring the other team. If they were to que alone it would be like that game was. This game and the reason I love it has the highest skill ceiling of any game ever and the average player skill is incredibly high. So hard for a new player to get into without hours of training. And most people aren't willing to do that and I can't fault them it's the reason I never played until a year ago. Seemed to hard to get to a level where the game is fun

When I first played ranked, (the game wasn't in English so these phrases are formal and nice compliments) and i said "good job" with the formalities of it, but the phrase was typed out in a way like "even if you failed you can still do this" (the language is really complicated). I didn't know that it was a toxic thing, so my teammate spammed it at me. Do you know what the quick chat was? I figured this out 3 years after quitting; it was *"what a save."* I hate the toxicity of Rocket League and other online games so much, that's why I play the games I do, people are civil and I can actually have fun rather than rage at everyone I see for, who knows what.

Most of the time its not throwing but boosted players that don't belong to the rank they're at. Rocket league probably cant fix this neither the player. If youre playing with a better friend youll rank up and rank down afterwards ranking down great players in your way. This is all messed up and theres nothing we can do.

Eyyo! Very fun vid, but yall didn’t actually try to verify if that player is a Smurf. That guy is a PlayStation player, and I was able to look him up on Rocket League tracker. He’s not a Smurf. 623 games this season and is still C2. Has multiple seasons of being C2 with hundreds of games played. Dude just has good mechanics. There are a lot of C2 players with this level of mechanics. Just bad decision making.

Most players I come across are either stubborn and narcissistic, or overly sensitive; like going absolutely mental or voting to forfeit at the first mishap kinda thing. Quite sad when you realize just how overwhelmingly toxic the RL playerbase can be, and it just gets worse by the day. Need a passive player rating system in place to group players with like-minded players. I would rather wait a bit longer to match on 'etiquette', rather than throw an entire match away because of some childish plank.
