As a person who was born Catholic, left the church and became atheist at teen, and finally repent and return to the Lord only recently as 24 years old man. I can only say that those who left God will eventually return to him once they have arrived at the "nothingness" at the end of the road. Life is an equation, and God is the only key to the truth itself. Praise the Lord.

@@michaelmcfeely6588 I once came to that conclusion too, my friend. So I understand your viewpoint all too well. Well, I believe that KZbin comment section isn't sufficient enough for such discussion. But all I can say is that once you are _there_ at the end of the road. Once you gaze that "nothingness" as a conclusion of all your grains of thoughts with your very own eyes, then you would finally want to open your heart to the truth. And the truth is God in the person of Jesus Christ.

I was born Hindu. I became a true secular by my late 20s.. & then studied & explored the nature of all major "religions" of the world & characteristics of the people & societies following them. And realised that there is nothing as stunning & as intelligent & wise as the VEDIC philosophy & Dharma. Every thing else is a commandment to order people & societies into submission & become foot soldiers of the religion. Vedic line of thought, way of life & view of looking at the universe & life is so exploring & enricbing.. The basis of all scientific & spiritual exploration.. within & without. With VEDIC philosophy, you become one with the universe while still being able to look at it from the outside. Indian society though has gone into decay due to being cut from its roots by barbaric islamist invasions & cunning conversion mafia of missionaries. But the VEDIC & Hindu seed is so potent, it always revives itself even through adversity. Coz it is the most natural thing to do. Also, religions are simplistic.. They shut down human ability to think. Dharma, on the other hand.. makes humans evolve to a higher consciousness. No wonder the level of discourse today in the world has gone garbage.. that it has no capacity to identify quality & wisdom. I'm going back to the Vedas & all its chants. "I'm the universe"

do you want knowledgable truth ?If you are gay or transgender or know someone who is, this is important information! It has been determined that sexual orientation is determined in the womb during fetal development. Various hormones such as testosterone are introduced at specific times & amounts which determine physical, biological & psychologic features of the fetus. It is, therefore, not a choice by the fetus or mother & consequently not a sin & not immoral. It is a natural path of life’s evolution & found commonplace in nature. Extensive medical research clearly explains this process. Those who believe it is an abomination do so based not on facts but on religious authority. I totally accept that this is their right to believe this and I understand. It must be made clear however, it is based on religion not science. If you are truly interested in the truth based on knowledge, facts & research, the book Gay, Straight & the Reason Why by Dr. Simon Levay explains this with numerous research articles. If you want to understand the truth & have respect for others & yourself, this book will help. It also has, unlike the bible written over 2000 years ago by men that had, unfortunately, no understanding of science, an extensive bibliography. I strongly recommend the book if you want solid factual understanding. If you chose to respond to me, please read this book &/or the numerous articles referred to in the reference section beforehand. I do not want to waste your or my time if your claim to understanding is based on religion. The public must be exposed to facts & knowledge. It is an obligation for those who know the truth & defend it. Don’t let the religious pull you down to their level of ignorance & intolerence. Peace

@@dan69052 "do you want knowledgable truth ?If you are gay or transgender or know someone who is, this is important information!" pretty biased. People have many problems, those above arent the main discussion of the role humanity, example, how to deal with crimes, diseases, wars... But unfortanely, you preffer to use science (in this situation) to discuss non relatable problem to most part of the humanity. The end sentence with " It is an obligation for those who know the truth & defend it. " its like closed mind person would say and jugde others, despise the problems they already have and fight against, with the help of science (Artificial inteligence increased security, techniches helped to do research about ways to proper help the unhealthy, cyrigies, cancers, mechanical structures to manage many products and send the to travel around the globe and consequently making the economy rise, etc.). @JosephLachh
@JosephLachh Жыл бұрын
@@Fxrrxt2x Absolutely! There are a lot of differences, but the biggest one is Salvation. This will be a long comment unfortunately, but I hope you're still interested in reading it: Protestant Christians believe in salvation through faith alone in Christ. Two verses that highlight this is Romans 11:6 and Ephesians 2:8-9 which say that if it is by faith, it cannot be by works and that we are saved by grace, not by works so that nobody can boast. The grace of salvation being accomplished by faith alone apart from anything one can do is a key element of protestant belief. (Other verses in Romans, and also John where Jesus discusses believing in him). However, Roman Catholicism, as you know, believes that you receive grace as a part of the sacraments. Faith in Jesus is only one part of washing away your sins. Therefore, faith and works are understood by James 2 to mean that works and faith are both a part of salvation and a unified concept, as works of the sacraments have grace inherently in them. Protestants give the sacraments no salvific value but are just ordinances. Additionally, one must go to a priest for confession to wash away sins otherwise these are dealt with in Purgatory. Catholics cite James 5:16 and John 20:23 for the need for confession. However, Protestants argue that this idea is foreign to scripture, citing 1 John 1:9 saying Jesus is the only one we must confess to. Ultimately, the reformation of Protestantism was a response to Roman Catholicism and a rejection of it. In the same way, Catholic doctrine rejects Protestants. The Counsel of Trent Session 6 Chapter IX says that anyone who believes in salvation by faith alone is to be Anathema (the beliefs are heretical). Other major differences have to do with if the Catholic Papacy and Magisterium have the authority to interpret the very passages they use to defend their doctrines to mean what they say it means verses using Scripture Alone (sola scriptura). Any questions?

can knowledge open your eyes ?If you are gay or transgender or know someone who is, this is important information! Peace

The Catholic Church teaches a lot of unbiblical traditions. At least here where I live. A lot of Catholics don't read the Bible. Like my parents. They pray to saints and to images of Mary. They call it venerating instead of idolatry. They taught a lot of unbiblical stuff that I couldn't continue it anymore. I started to read the Bible on my own. I went to different protestant churches until I found a Christian non-denominational church where the pastor teaches sound doctrine using the bible, not traditions invented by man. When I go to this church, I actually feel Gods presence. I have never been to a church where the pastor actually cares about the people rather than just making money for the church. He teaches you about how to be saved biblically, instead of the watered down message most pastors preach. When the service is over, you feel like it went so fast and wish it wasn't over yet. Never have I felt the presence of God in another church. The Catholic churches I attended with my parents, the service was sad. I learned nothing about what God wants us to do, or the Bible. The church would just have routine mass and then announcements at the end of service for things they were selling outside. I learned nothing about the gospel or my savior.

@@strangeroamer3219 I can appreciate the experience you had and am not denying your experience. I know for sure there are some bad priests and parishes out there, just as there are bad protestant communities. My quarrel would be that the key difference isn't which one subjectively feels is true, we can feel like anything is true if we are set in the right emotional state, the key difference is which is actually true. Some priests do teach heresy and error. I know of one for example who seems to endorse LGBT disorders as good. Just like many protestants do. So the question is not which have leaders where none believe in error, but which Church actually as their official teachings teaches the Truth and only the Truth. The Catholic Church alone stands true in that regard. I don't deny God works in some protestant communities. He did in mine when He led me home to the Church. But that working is always towards the Truth even if it's occuring in a place where those being worked on are currently outside it. As far asking saints for prayer to saints, I don't see how that is idolatry or unbiblical, so you may have to clarify that point. What verse in the bible forbids that? We know from Revelation that the saints are before God in prayer, Revelation 5 even shows prayers being delivered to God as incense by those in heaven, a picture of asking the saints to pray for us as the ancient pre-Christian Jews did and as the earliest Christians did.

@@Aethelhart You ignored the claim of Catholics worshiping Mary. You can deny it all you want but Catholics in Central and South America will have pictures and statues of Mary and pray to her statue. The pope prayed to a statue of Mary to stop the pandemic and the war/conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Catholics have many prayers that you can recite that start of calling on Mary and talking to Mary so she can intercede on our behalf with God. If you are bowing down and praying to Mary for help and having religious rites to honor Mary then that is the definition of worship. Mary is wonderful and deserves recognition but she should not be worshiped and she does not play any role in heaven or mediating or interceding on our behalf with God and Jesus Christ. You saying that the prayers are through Jesus Christ doesn’t mean anything, we are directed to pray only to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no place in the Bible that even closely resembles anything like what Catholics say about Mary. Mary wasn't talked about in letters by early church fathers like how modern catholics do until 295 AD. The veneration (worship) of Mary didn't start in roughly the fifth century. There is no evidence of Christians worshiping saints or Mary before the fourth century. By the 13th century, with the influence of Francis of Asissi and Bernard of Clairvaux, the Catholic Church began to make the veneration of Mary a large part of Christianity. It was in the 13th century that the phrase “Hail Mary, full of grace” was first used. Your traditions are not a part of biblical theology. Worshiping Mary, the cross or a picture or statue of Christ (or Mary) goes against the 2nd commandment “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them…” Exodus 20:4-5 and Deuteronomy 5:8-9. _"but which Church actually as their official teachings teaches the Truth and only the Truth. The Catholic Church alone stands true in that regard."_ LOL No it doesn't. How the relationship of God and Jesus Christ is described, necessity of baptism and the proper way to do it and when you are really considered "saved", proper priesthood authority, the laying on of hands to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, keeping the commandments and not being a sinner and actually following Christ, exaltation, baptism for the dead/preaching to the dead, 3 kingdoms of glory, doctrine of Adam and Eve, not worshiping idols (the cross and pictures/statues of Jesus Christ and Mary for Catholics), Creation ex Nihilo, Purgatory (For Catholics), God being a spirit, marriages continuing in heaven, and the importance of temples are all things that have been removed, changed or added later by creeds and/or Martin Luther and you teach these things despite some of it going against the bible. All of this can be shown from the bible and/or history and I can very much expand on each of these points for you. _"What verse in the bible forbids that?"_ Where in the Bible does it say to do it? _"We know from Revelation that the saints are before God in prayer"_ No, Revelation doesn't say anything like that. The closest you can get is Revelation 5:8 but it is symbolic of prayers from everyone going to God, not your saints. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's and Jesus Christ one and only true church here on earth. We know and teach the Bible and gospel better than any other denomination. There is one serious doctrine you may like to think about. God said in Exodus, do not make images of anything either in heaven or on earth.... Now, any symbol that is associated to any gods is an image prohibited by God according to Baptist understanding. Baptists will normally condemn any items used by say Hindus in their worship rituals as things prohibited by God. Usually during Easter, Baptist Churches have communion service or the celebration of the Last Supper . Bread is taken as symbolic body (image) of Jesus. Wine is taken as symbolic (image ) of Jesus' blood. So, you may like to reflect whether Baptist Church broke God's commandment or not. Baptist Churches also have crosses placed in their churches. Whether this cross is an image God prohibited in Exodus or not. And if cross is not an image, what is it? Also how do Baptists have communion with Jesus when they take bread and wine? Can a symbolic thing establish true communion? Do Baptists have symbolic communion when they take symbolic body and symbolic blood of Christ? Basing on your answers, you can judge whether Baptist churches have consistent logical belief system without contradiction

All religions except Hinduism need you to compulsorily "believe" something written in a book. You are not allowed to question anything written in that book. You need to be a "believer". But in Hinduism / Sanatan Dharma, there is no compulsion about anything and you can question anything. Its not about "believing"...its about "seeking" and hence there can be many different correct paths leading to god. I don't think there are less believers, it seems like especially among younger people, that the church is no longer at the center. I'm not religious, but I am a Christian. I don't have a denomination, but I am a Christian. I love Jesus. I follow Jesus and His teachings from the Bible, which regardless of the number of times I read it, I always see something new and inspiring. I watch Pastor Allen Jackson and Dutch and Tim Sheets, along with a few others who preach the gospel. I am bedridden, but I still have "church" with family and friends, usually by phone. I also manage to bring God into conversations with everyone I talk to, including telemarketers and wrong numbers! I love my Lord Jesus and talk to Him all throughout the day and night, not just while praying, but about the mundane things. I don't need a reason to talk with Him, because He is my best friend and I enjoy His company, His presence in my life. Let God bring you closer to Him and He will write His word on your heart.

hello dear brothers and sisters, i hope you can pray for my return to the catholic church🙏🏻 my whole family and relatives are very devout protestants since i grew up in a muslim majority country (Indonesia) and i was from HKBP, a big evangelical church known for defending their faith so vocally. i loved them bc they taught a lot but since i now always attend masses, i feel immense joy i've never felt in my former church. the love this church has for Christ is so great, the saints and the angels taught me lessons from their letters and biographies, and the priests teaches us patiently about the Scripture. i've chosen this path God choose for me and i don't regret it even a bit.

The real question is whether there is an authentic Christianity besides the Orthodox Christianity! The mystery of God is the mystery of the Uncreated Eternal Life Who is Ecstatic Love! Christianity isn't meant to be about a distant transaction between us and God! It is a transformational fullness of Life! It is about experiencing the fullness of Christ's mystery! Such an experience is really crucial in order to truly Know the Uncreated God! Only the Uncreated is Immortal and the cause of life and immortality! It follows that isolating anything created from its Creator causes the process of its erosion! That process is reversible, which means redeemable only by communing with God's Uncreated energies! It's about Theosis in the Orthodox Theology! It's about a transcendental transformation by experiencing God's Uncreated Life. The protestant and roman catholic theology denies that the created may commune with the Uncreated God by denying God's Uncreated energies! However, our life cries out for fullness! We won't experience Life that is Life to the full, unless we experience the Eternal! Experiencing the Eternal is not about daydreaming! Experiencing the Eternal is about living for real by experiencing God Who is Life to the full! You may experience God's Power and be wrapped in awe! You may be filled with God's Love and be profoundly affected! You may be enlightened by God's Light and emerge from any darkness! You may partake of God's Life and live for real! You may experience the Eternity of the Uncreatedness by God's Will, through His Son's Grace, in His Spirit Communion. Of course, we could never commune with God's essence, but we may commune with God's Uncreated energies by experiencing the Divine and human person of Christ! By participating in Christ's Mystical Supper, we may partake of His Life and live for real! His Life becomes our Life! Thus, we partake of His Uncreated Divine Energy, that is of His Father and of His Spirit! You are always welcomed to experience the mystery of God's Love in the Orthodox Church! May God's Love be your Life, so that you may experience Life that is Life to the full! God bless you and Live for real!
