Wife of Man Shot in the Head While Street Preaching Reveals 'Miracles' in His Recovery

The wife of an Arizona man who was shot in the head last month while street preaching in Glendale, Arizona, said she and her family have witnessed a "miracle" every day after doctors initially assumed her husband wouldn't survive the ordeal. Zulya Schmidt, wife of 26-year-old Hans Schmidt, told CBN Digital her husband continues to make stunning progress despite facing a litany of medical uncertainties.
"We're hopeful, and we're praying, and we're contending for a supernatural recovery," Zulya Schmidt said. "But there's just so much unknown still, so much uncertainty." She said there's hope though, noting, "Every day we've been able to witness a miracle." Schmidt called Hans' progress "just amazing" and said he's now able to understand a bit more of the situation he's in after being shot Nov. 15. She's unsure exactly how much he comprehends because he's unable to communicate, though he is increasingly aware of the circumstances.
As CBN Digital reported, Hans, a 26-year-old dad of two, a military combat veteran, and the outreach director at Victory Chapel First Phoenix in Arizona, was taken to the hospital Nov. 15 on suspicion of having been assaulted. But a CT scan revealed he had been shot. Schmidt was initially in serious condition, as his family prayed for a miracle, imploring others to do the same.
Zulya Schmidt shared details with CBN News of what unfolded the evening of the shooting, noting Hans was street preaching as he has frequently done over the past year. "He's been doing that for over a year, and, usually, he street preaches for 30 minutes before every evening service for our church," she said. My husband had a brain injury several years ago. Not a severe as your husband's, but I can relate to the stress you are going through. I listen to sermons on healing and a lot of praise music in his hospital room. No TV, no negative talk at all, and read my Bible continuously. I had a brain injury last year I was riding my bike and this car struck me speeding . I was 3 inches from hitting the medal part and If I Did my Brian would be everywhere gruesome . Dear sister, Hold on to God! I had brain surgery in September. I know God was and is in control. I was sharing the gospel with everyone I could while I was in the hospital ( 20 days).. Prophet Bobby Conner said, “This year God is about to show up and show off.” The first couple of days after surgery, I was straddling between heaven and earth. God was showing me amazing things. I believe the same thing is happening for your husband. He can hear you. Speak faith to him. ( Hebrews 11:1 ). God is the great physician. The doctors here on earth are only practicing.

My brother when he was 7 years old came up missing everybody was frantically looking for him thinking he was kidnapped are hurt himself we didn't know where he was. All our family got together looking for him and they were at our house. My uncle got hungry and we had a refrigerator on the back porch that we kept bread in. My sister went out and she found my brother he had called into the refrigerator. My parents rushed him to the hospital and the doctor said, if he lives he will be brain dead or a vegetable. My mother love that doctor in the eye and she said I do not believe that. My mother stayed at the hospital and prayed over my brother all night long. She would wipe his brow when he broke a sweat and take a blanket off. By early morning my mother had closed her eyes can you tell me the most beautiful words that she ever heard, what's Mom, Mom, I am hungry. I learned from my mother and her faith, was not to believe it I'm about to believe Against All Odds as she told the doctors I do not believe that in her prayers were answered.

My sister, I have faith my mother suffered from the same life threatening injury from a brain haemorrhage and was in the same position, unable to speak, walk, even eat, yet the Lord has been faithful and has completely healed her and also used that situation to change my family's life.
