Voice actors are the closest thing we will have to living comic book characters. Such incredible respect for guys like Kevin Conroy and Troy Baker. In fact, I would say Troy Baker is the first true "legacy" voice actor for a super hero (err, villain) -- he has so faithfully inherited and preserved Mark Hamill's character on a level that no other comic book voice actor has achieved. Hamill and Baker have truly donned the rule of the same Joker, just as much as Grayson and Drake are the same Robin.

Agreed. I grew up on Hamill as the Joker and I always hate when they have anyone else voice the role, it never sounds right, it's never the Joker. And then I heard Baker do it and he so faithfully captures the Joker that Hamill personified that it's like they are the same voice. So good.

Kevin truly is Batman, knowing he brightened the days of the 9-11 victims by portraying Batman for them and making them food, it really does make me feel like crying. I don't know why. It's just a really nice feeling. Kevin will always be my Batman. Troy Baker is an amazing Joker. Mark Hamill will always be my Joker but Troy will always be my younger Joker. These men are and always will be my heroes.

I had a story like Kevins but on a much smaller scale. My theater group in college did a night of 10-minute plays and I directed one called "The Secret Origins of Mojo Man." people loved it. I was watching from the rafters and people were rolling in their seats from laughter. So a few weeks later I get called for jury duty and the only seat left in the selection room was beside me and this pretty girl sits there. We start talking and i tell her I'm a full-time theater student. She goes off about how she loves the theater and how she had just gone to the night of 10-minute plays. I ask her which was her favorite and she says the superhero one. I just laughed and told her I had directed that one. She tells me how much she loved it and the rest of them. I went back and told my classmates that what we do matters to the community. I always think back to that moment when i need some reassurance abut what im doing
