These are great, love the simpler times and old vintage TV shows. Glad some of them are still here on You Tube

Sixty years ago tonight (Los Angeles Ch.2 9:30 P.M.) "Father of the Bride" premiered. Absolutely loved that T.V. series. Myrna Fahey was a Knockout!❤

Miss Fahey left this world too soon--May 1, 1973--due to CANCER.

This originally aired on local affiliates during the first two weeks of September 1961 (and nationally, on September 15th). However, a few brief segments are missing from this print- "DOBIE GILLIS" {7:39}; the alternating dramatic anthologies "THE UNITED STATES STEEL HOUR" and "ARMSTRONG CIRCLE THEATER" {13:29}; and a list of upcoming specials {27:57}. The '61-'62 season was an overall success for the network, but several of the new series [and some established ones] were eventually cancelled.

"THE ALVIN SHOW" was originally telecast in black and white. Color prints weren't seen until the series was syndicated in the fall of 1965!

20:15- The irony of the pilot episode of 'FATHER OF THE BRIDE" was, that despite Stanley Banks telling the audience his daughter was "married today", the actual wedding episode wasn't seen unti February 1962. Everything that happened until then- over a period of 17 episodes- were "flashbacks".

I never understood the appeal of Garry Moore. Exactly what talent did he have?
