CBS News - Northridge Earthquake Coverage (January 17, 1994)

I'm so sorry for being late on this, as my work schedule kept me from uploading this on the anniversary of this disaster.
January 17 of this year marked the 30th anniversary of what was one of the costliest natural disasters in U.S. history. The Northridge earthquake was a moment magnitude 6.7 (Mw), blind thrust earthquake that wrecked havoc across Los Angeles and its suburbs, claiming 57 lives and injuring up to 9,000.
Thankfully, when I lived in Los Angeles, me, my family, and my grandparents were not in the city when the quake struck as we were vacationing in Florida at the time. However, my family's house, as well as our grandparents house, did sustain some damage and we also lost some belongings along the way. Thankfully though, we managed to rebuild and replace whatever we lost.
This footage from CBS News also contains coverage of the disaster from CBS O&O, KCBS-TV, in Los Angeles. This copy was recorded via WCAU-TV in Philadelphia (now an NBC O&O), which also features a report on the Winter Storm that struck Philadelphia and most of the Northeastern United States. However, this is the only copy of the Earthquake coverage that I have at the moment.

RIP All who died in the 1994 quake and at the same time its better for the current residents to prepare for the next quake given that its been 30 years since they faced being in the direct epicenter of the quake.
