I was trying to place the voice of the barkeeper without looking it up and I came up with Lee Marvin but when I saw it was Fred Qwynn, it became so obvious.

One detail she forgot to tell the bartender: the boss pulled the trigger first! So it wasn’t really murder, it was self-defense.

When did this first air? I recognized Fred Gwynne's voice

@Ellie, This first aired exactly 40 years earlier to the day on February 15th, 1982. Marian Seldes, who played the part with Fred Gwynn (as the bartender) was actually 55 years old herself when she played this part of a 55 year old Secretary who was fired because she was 55 years old.

Well here's a fitting good time story for myself. Working in legal offices in New York state, it was common that women were let go from the age 40 and up, depending on how old you look. I was lucky, that I look younger than I was, because it wasn't too good for a lot of people. Okay good night story time and good night from upstate New York!
