Jim Nantz and Al Michaels are my two favorite announcers along with the great John Madden.

Nantz has had a lot of great calls. He shows a lot of emotion when it’s warranted. He managed to make a broadcast tolerable even with Phil Simms stumbling for 3 hours. That’s talent.

I grew up with Football, but Nantz is ingrained in my brain as the voice of The Masters. Nothing better than the final round at Augusta, called by this legend!!

One of the coolest things about that Devin Hester kick return was that it was before cell phone cameras were everywhere, so you still had camera flashes all over the stadium during the return.

Jim Nantz is the best football broadcaster in the business. Over the years, his style in broadcasting football has become much more exciting. He raises his voice a lot more than he used to and that has made him the best.

I know a lot of people don't like it, but I think the 13-3 Patriots-Rams superbowl was a really good game. The 2 defenses played out of their mind.

I love great defensive play too, but that was a snooze fest... Lol but I'm a Chiefs fan, and I may have been still mad about the previous game where the Patriots snuck by the Chiefs in over time

My favorite play by play guy was always Curt Gowdy but, Nantz is the best. I also think Mike Tirico calls a great game.

The majority of Super Bowls Jim Nantz has called on CBS were (unfortunately) not all that exciting or dramatic, but one huge exception: Nantz’s Harbaugh Bowl/Blackout Bowl (Super Bowl XLVII) had a terrific, riveting finish; Niners were down 28-6 to the Ravens before the lights went out, but after the blackout ended a half-hour later, SF came roaring back (cutting it to 34-29). Niners were just *5 yards* from taking the lead with less than 2 minutes left, but a great Ravens goal-line stand prevented them from getting in the end zone. Game ended Baltimore 34-31 (Ravens took a deliberate safety to avoid punting from their end zone). Super Bowl XLIV was a distant second for Nantz-called SBs; Colts we’re down just 24-17 and driving late in the 4th; it could have had a terrific finish if not for a pick-six of Peyton Manning with 3 minutes left. (ended 31-17 Saints)

Oh, also, he didn’t call the game (Greg Gumbel did) but in Super Bowl XXXVIII, Nantz got to witness firsthand a very exciting game with a fantastic finish, with the Patriots’ Tom Brady driving down in the final minute to set up Adam Vinatieri’s game-winning FG; he at least got to get up on the podium and to do the big postgame celebration interviews with the Pats as the Lombardi Trophy was handed off. :)

JN is a great broadcaster. No doubt about it. A Vin Scully to the golf game. But he’s always name dropping, everyone he knows is the greatest or the best, and everyone is his friend in broadcasting. He waxes on and on to the point of being nauseating and there’s no reality to his perspective. His low point recently was the discussion of how wonderful his CBS boss was on National TV during the Chiefs/Bills game. It was such a homer job of a brown-nosing suck up performance it deserved an Academy Award.

If jaquirski tartt hangs onto that damn interception at the end of the nfl ship the year vs the rams and purdy doesnt have a fluke injury last year the niners would be in their 4th superbowl in the last 5 years. But nobody wants to awknowledge the sf 49ers. Its thats east coast bias in the sports media. Makes you wanna puke
