Well here race plays a part of it who they want the face to be they had a chance twice to draft Lamar Jackson instead they get a defensive tackle who couldn't even get on the field minshew Sam darnold Baker Mayfield maybe a little older but they are playing better right now right now I live in Jacksonville and most of us don't want him as our quarterback yes maybe if you had a better quarterback coach he could potentially be better we had a very very talented offense and the defense overplayed last year his bad decision making in poor play injury of turnovers and panicking they tried to use his injuries as an excuse the guy last year from the practice squad was better but I guess they didn't want a quarterback controversy just as they had a chance to get Justin Fields but they get the other guy the other guy from New England😅 with the same 6 round pick trade🤔 if he had the chance I'm very sure he would take the spot actually having the same play caller and quarterback coach it's sad when a franchise isn't trying to win you clearly see someone else that can be better but just because it's a first-round pick they want to treat it different and because he's a good guy

They’re afraid that they’re wrong about those QBs or that someone else will do better with them and make them look foolish. How often has that really happened? Usually, when teams dump QBs, they are right about those QBs. They’re either finished, or - in cases like Favre’s, Brady’s, Stafford’s, Moon’s, and Russ’s - can still play but will prevent their prior teams from rebuilding with the proper long-term foundation. Russ still has more in the tank than any of those other QBs did when they left their original teams or even their second teams. He can get Pittsburgh to a SB or two.

The dude was not lying. He was using Stats to back his position like the rest. He mentioned how this is a psuedo 7 year contract and that the money won't start being paid out until the 2026 Season. By that time 55 per year will sound more palatable compared to 60-70 Million per year. He mentioned Trevor wasn't getting paid what he deserves but instead based on the Market and how the NFL does contracts for QBs. (Trevor will still be on his Rookie Contract through the 2025 Season.) He straight up says he doesn't think Trevor is worth that money as a player and that this is based on an Investment the team is making. It's true, teams invest in their QBs all too often paying for speculation as opposed to on field production. You might disagree with everything the person said, yet what he said was correct in how things are done in the NFL in regards to QB contracts.

This League is about paying QBs as "Next Man Up" and overpriced contracts. The majority of QBs in the NFL aren't paid what they're truly valued at based on On Field Production but instead based on what the team THINKS the QB will evolve into. This is a League wide issue. By the time Trevor's actual contract pays him his money it'll be 2026. At that point, 50+ million a year for a QB will be on the "cheaper" side. (Which is disgusting personally. We saw what happened with #1 Pick contracts after Stafford got Drafted when teams and owners finally agreed that the Picks were getting way too much money without ever stepping on a field and earning said money.)

As a Jags fan i feel i can speak on this. First off. ACHO & SHADY are immediately disqualified from the conversation. You cant have intelligent conversations with biased and unintelligent individuals. 2nd Is it it an overpay? Yes it is. But the market has been this way for the last 2 seasons. Are Watson, Russell, Herbert, and Tua overpays? Because the market dictated that they pay them or take another chance in the draft. And these higher tier QBs arent growing on Trees. 3rd.
