As a Gen Z I am so glad this show was my childhood. Its the reason I wanted to be an engineer in the airforce and now a forensic technician. The best thing about this show is the main hero is a science nerd who doesn't drink or smoke (one thing i hated that they changed in the reboot) and is just an honestly good person. Great role model and inspiration.

I really like MacGyver classics. When I grew up, and this was hot: It was what my older, bully brother wanted to watch on TV, not what I liked. I did not get to enjoy it when it was out as a result. I never sat down and watched MacGyver in complete sessions until later on in life. When I tried: I found you got to watch about 30 minutes of story lines and talk before you actually get to see him improvise something. All my life, I discover I am like this guy named MacGyver who I never watched on tv. I live by improvising all the time. A swiss army knife, duct tape, tie wire. I have made rockets out of these materials that flew. I had made Explosives out of things like water bottles, cigar tubes, hydrogen peroxide. On a last note: I watched an entire MacGyver episode. It was "Legend of Holy Rose". MacGyver built him an airplane out of commonly available materials to escape the captivity of the Medellin Cartel. When I saw that episode: I completely lost it. Whenever I see the plane taxiing off the dirt rode and off the cliff; I fall over crying. I guess I can relate to it somehow. God Bless MacGyver.

Using Boyle's Law with the heater to expand the water / cause it to melt to make the pans fall was ingenious, and the vegetable oil helped buy more time for him to get outside. Using the hose as a tripwire was a good move too. I love working with logic - it helps you think of interesting solutions to problems, and it helps to have a knowledge of these things beforehand. That's why Science is my favorite class.

I've always wondered about door knobs, they seem very impractical. It's way easier for disabled people to use their elbows for example, to open the door when there's a handle instead of a knob. I sometimes use my elbow to open doors, especially in scenarios where I carry boxes with both my hands. Why waste time going to the door to open it first, then go back to pick up the box and then out the door, when you can just pick up the box, walk to the door, use your elbow to open it while still holding the box (you don't have to put the box down to pick it up again).
