Wow what memories. I’m 69 years old. Friday nights were slot car nights.

THIS IS Fantastic to see this being shown on mainstream news outlet. Should be more often. Very cool indeed. Eldon for me back in the 60's.. Loved slotcars, then still do now.

I am an old man of 59 years old. I still vaguely remember slot cars. Revel, Cox, and other brands. My brother had a Bat Mobile that was so cool. We had to always replace the metal contact points (whiskers) and put oil on the gears. Everyone would have their car/tool case. It was a magical time.

I remember watching my cousins racing slot cars in Gladstone, MI during Christmas of 1967. It was 4 years old and it was magical!

Great job Lucky Bobs. I'm been buying slot cars and sets for three years and now I'm so happy that your daughter is the first one to come in 4th place in the biggest slot car race in the US. I just wish my mom was living she was the one that got me in the hobby . Congratulations

Haha. I love it! My dad got me slot cars back in the 80s and 90s. I got my son a slot car set about 7 years ago. I think i need to look into one for myself!

Had Tyco and AFX in the 70’s, now at 58, after several years of additions and rebuilds, we have a racetrack consisting of about 165 feet of Carrera D132/124 track on an “L” shaped table that is approximately 22’x24’. Looking forward to getting the grandkids involved. Might have to take a drive up to Lucky Bob’s 🏎🏎

This is the type of fun that young kids should be doing today getting them to socialize with other people and get along with them and have a good time. That is what we miss in today’s society.

Thunderjets and Eldon 1/32 racing was much more fun then these new cars that are so fast you can’t even keep up with them. Get rid of the magnets and really race them.

love this segment.... i caught the bug in 1974 , AFX , been at it since then, 59 now , shout out to all who made it down to 69 Church Ave in Brooklyn , NY, Buzz A Rama.... it was haven for me. I would love to see the younger generation get into this, to build something, to feel the power, to touch it, etc vs the virtual World !

Great memories, but most of those cars require no driving skill. Full speed beyond comprehension. The good ‘ol days were driving cars that drove slower and needed skill to prevent crashing. My memories go back to racing my COX Chaparral 1/24.

Men and women are wired differently, completely. Most hobbies involving anything with wheels or wings is mostly dominated by men, and most women seem to think its silly and a waste of time, but only the true women understand how much hobbies like this mean to men and what it does for the heart and mind, as well as building lifelong friendships.
