This happened to a classmate of mine when we were in high school! We were a super small school, on an old preschool site. He was walking between classes in his hoodie and then the police swarmed our school with like 6 rifles and they tackled him and held him at gunpoint. A few teachers saw and tried to run up and explain and they got yelled at too. Apparently there was a robbery and the guy ran in the direction of the school, they saw my classmate DeyDey, and jumped. He wasn’t even wearing the right pant color of their suspect! It was a mess and super scary too. We were 9th graders then.

That is the biggest problem with their section 1983 case. White and gray are not that different. They are both shades of achromatic gray. At first I thought his shirt was white. That probably has to do with the quality of the video. The issue is should they have cuffed him and placed him in the cruiser. Neon shorts and a gray t vs. neon shorts and a white t. The police probably had enough under _Terry v. Ohio,_ Supreme Court 1968 to detain him. At the very least the police will have qualified immunity for the initial detainment. It’s more debatable whether they will be able to justify handcuffing him and placing him in the cruiser.

Here is my discrepancy with this and all situation like this. I'm a 47 year old black man so I've seen my fair share of profiling and accidental detaining. This is one of those causes. However what ibfind remarkably funny but no one is laughing is the fact that we as a society and or race are damn quick to pass judgment on cops for over extending their job and power if you will. Yet stay damn silent for the very same blacks that put us innocent bystanders in harms way. This young man wouldn't have never been detained if the parts of the other kids know their kids were abouts and associates they was hanging with that put this kid in harms way. Yet you all won't gripe about that just what the cops did. If you dislike cops so much don't call them during your time of need, call your local neighborhood watch captain.

Oh wow..No regarss for this kids trauma...No accontability for the officers in the 10 or more police cars that deccended on this 12 year old, and violating his safety. This is how they waste taxpayers money. No questions asked no investigation obviously... these are all adults that stood by and inflictct this trauma on a child..
