University botches just about every grad's name at commencement

Thomas Jefferson University is apologizing for a graduation gaffe gone viral. The school said the names were spelled out phonetically on cards given to the presenter. But clearly, that didn't help.

Someone has to have pranked the presenter... right? It's one thing to mispronounce some syllables, and another to not know where the first name ends and the middle name begins.

Maybe it should have been a requirement that the presenter be able to read. The school should’ve made sure that one of the qualifications was a minimum of a 3rd grade education.

@@mermaid_m0tel it’s not phonics. It’s phonetic spellings. It’s like using a dictionary. There’s the word itself spelled correctly and next to that is the phonetic spelling of how to pronounce the word.
