NBC Nightly News started at 1:35 into the program because of extended "coming up" business and ABC World News Tonight didn't get going until 2:15 into the broadcast for the same reason. John & Maurice were off and running at the 0:09 mark.

It's because journalism was the priority before this modern era of national news programming; ratings were not the priority. It all changed when cable news programming started. It became networks vs. cable for highest viewership.

My first time watching since Norah's last broadcast. Not to be critical of the current two anchors, but I have to wonder if they ever considered Lonnie Quinn as their anchor. He seems to have the personality and on air presence to be great in the position. Perhaps as a weatherman he doesn't have the news gravitas to be an anchor, but seems to have the mental alertness to be able to do the job regardless of his CV. Just a thought.

The new format isn’t working for me guys. It seems a little extra. There’s no reason to have 2 anchors, rather silly. It looks like you’re trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak. Hopefully you’ll land more on middle ground in due time. Good luck, I’m still going to watch.
