I’m not arguing, take everything and get going so I can sell the house and move on with my life. Once house was sold and divorce finalized, I packed my few things and moved two states away. Found a new job with a better salary and benefits. Found a new wonderful woman and settled in. 22 years later and three daughters, I’m looking at early retirement. From despair to pure joy. You’re not wrong, but you are leaving out an extremely important part of the equation. Tyson has taken over the pork industry by creating huge industrial-sized hog farms that stink up the countryside for miles around!!! They have devastated the small American family hog farms. And they have been able to do this for many years because the Republican Party has been taking huge political contributions from these companies for presidential elections and in turn they have significantly reduced or completely eliminated anti-trust lawsuits that would break up these huge corporations. You want proof? Investigate the large antitrust suits that were recently won against Google and Apple under a Democratic Party administration. The current United States Department of Justice is also bringing lawsuits against Ticketmaster and Live Nation, which have completely monopolized live entertainment venues in this country. So many Americans talk about, “if we don’t learn our history we are doomed to repeat it.” Well, I am a history professor, and I’m here to tell you that we HAVE BEEN repeating it! Many of our citizens have absolutely no clue how the ultrarich have used the Republican Party to facilitate manipulating and mistreating us in the same way that wealthy Americans monopolized the economy during the 1880s-1890s, also known as the Gilded Age. 😫😡

Most of the pork produced in the US goes to China and a few other countries. Just like oil. 35% of oil produced in US is exported. Also Diesel is the easiest to refine and used to be the cheapest, then the oil companies realized that it was the life blood of US economy, since so much food etc moves by truck Now it’s most expensive and the cost get past on to us the consumer.

Our small town lost one factory and manufacturing plant after another until our whole county is block after block of empty buildings. When everyone living here, worked in the same town, bought their gas and groceries in the same town, bought a new car at the local dealership, went to the local shops for school clothes, shoes, bought furniture at the local furniture store, we had a great place to live, work hard and raise a family. Mexico and China took all our jobs, now I hear China is melting down because rich corporations are moving out to Vietnam, Cambodia and other countries for cheap labor and better taxes. I guess they know how we felt 30 or 40 years ago.
