They are all "entrepreneurs". Alone out there, responsible for themselves and their load What we often forget - the value of the loaded freight is often over $ 1 Million in value. Trucker stops are not only for refueling and relaxing - they are a "safe heaven". Their Trucks are safe and protected withing the boundaries of the stop. Nobody would dare to pull out and eat in a local place, leaving his truck at the mercy of "organized crime".

This truckstop wasn't real big but it had a hotel attached i stayed there. When i got up took a shower and grabbed some breakfast before hitting the road.... as God is my witness, i just ordered the "Truckers Breakfast". The waitress came back with coffee and water while i waited for my grub, and she pulled another table over to mine and i politely told her i was eating alone!, she laughed and said you haven't been here before have you?....Well, I'll tell you, when she started bringing out food, i couldn't believe it!, ....everything you could imagine for a breakfast meal! She filled up both tables with food, just for me! I thought i was on " Candid Camera" ive never seen so much fresh cooked breakfast food in my life!.... it's been 45 years since that meal and i still talk about it! Get this, all that only cost me $10.00! Hell, i tipped her $20.00! It was along I-10 in Pecos Texas, i tried to bring my wife back there about a year later, and the whole place had burnt down, what a shame! Blessings to all!
