Looking at the scene from the videos, the woman had to be speeding when she went around the "slow car" in the middle lane. How many times while driving, I've seen cars come up on my rear and then pass me on the left or right and fade into the shoulder. She didn't just lose control and over compensated (don't know why the Sheriff said that, he wasn't there, smh), she plowed into the Officers. She should be charged with vehicular manslaughter at the very least.

So sad, so senseless. I live in this area, people frequently will drive well over 80-90 mph in this area. Florida has the move over law, and I suspect the "slower" driver she was passing had moved over for the deputies on the side of the road. Accidents happen, but she was clearly speeding, and driving recklessly.

if she was coming upon a slower car and had to swerve to avoid it then she obviously either didnt see it earlier (she was distracted) or it moved into her lane abruptly (because of the move-over law) or it slowed abruptly, possibly thinking the officers were running radar. if the lady didnt see it earlier and just suddenly came upon it then she was possibly distracted in some manner. she was driving faster than the car in front of her or the car suddenly slowed. would be great if there was a freeway camera that saw the incident.

Officer Diaz passed today. The only way this might have been avoided is if the officers were on the other side of the guard rail while waiting for assistance with the unit experiencing issues. I imagine that the woman who hit them will be charge with three counts of vehicular manslaughter. Actions have consequences. Tragic all the way around.

possibly no witnesses and the cameras probably have forward view only like most police car cams, and cams are activated with sirens . theyre not always on.. if there are witnesses the police have to get their story straight before releasing it, maybe.

People really don't know the traffic and highway rules. Cars, semi trucks, police on the shoulder and none of the motorist care to slow down or move over.
