Author James Rebanks on new book "Pastoral Song" and farming today

Best-selling author James Rebanks has been called England's most famous farmer. His latest book, "Pastoral Song," is a love story dedicated to the land his family has farmed for generations. Is it true that the UK government is now restricting farming ? Is it true that the National Trust is restricting the number of Herdwicks on some fells ? What is true is that there is too much bracken on the fells

Bracken is an indication there were once trees and woodland. Those areas of bracken in the Lake district could and should be temperate rain forest
