@@ArticSun To be fair, she sang pretty well, especially in the beginning with the self-titled debut album. I think the problem was Full Force’s music didn’t have much real dimension outside of dance music and it started to really show by the end of the 1980’s.

@@RocStarr913do you realize how uninformed you are? No one that was listening to music in the 1980s has forgotten at all about Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam. They had hit after hit after hit. J Lo and many others owe her a debt for paving the way. Lisa Lisa and Gloria Estafan were huge successful Latina women in the 1980s. They were and still are spectacular. @ Listening habits and styles change of course but you act like the woman can’t sell a ticket now and that is far from reality. @@melvinsmiley5295 Any talentless person who can sell enough records, or nowadays, chart high enough from streaming or even have fifteen minutes of fame can sell tickets. But the fact that her biopic movie, for one, was made for a cable channel, namely Lifetime, which is like bush league, proves that her overall commercial impact is ultimately niche. There are people that sell tickets even now in far bigger and wider array of venues.

Had such a crush on her as teen in the 80's...Being PR myself...I was like DAMN that's one of US making it BIG!!! Also being that MOST of all the freestyle/dance tracks were performed by Latinos/Latinas in the 80's-90's...Very cool...Lisa-Lisa was great then...& great to see her back now...

Loved me some Lisa Lisa . I remember walking down W 52nd ST visiting family and seeing her walking across the street . It was '87 and Head To Toe was the #1 song in the country at the time

When I was a young teen I thought she was so beautiful with her strong face. And now as a senior citizen, I still think she is still beautiful. I never knew she had breast cancer in her 20's!! God bless Lisa. I love her sound.

Had the pleasure of meeting Lisa a little over 30 years ago while promoting (if I'm not mistaken) her first solo venture after leaving Cult Jam. I worked at HQ for an MTV competitor at the time. She was so humble and appreciative of the praise we gave her. She even signed my "Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam" CD which I still have today! I didn't realize we are the same age. She was so beautiful in person; I thought she was around 30 at the time I met her (we were 25). I'm glad to see her doing so well.

Lisa Lisa is my favorite singer and I want to thank her for providing the soundtrack to my youth. Whenever I hear her songs I am automatically taken back to my youth and so many happy and bittersweet times. My adult daughter knows that whenever she wants to put a smile on my face when I am feeling a little down is to play her music. I even got my first haircut as a teen to imitate her hairstyle. I'm so glad that she is finally getting the recognition and honors she deserves. She truly deserves her flowers and I'm truly excited to see her bio on lifetime in 2025. I'm a 50 plus African American woman and her music truly transcends race because she will always be my favorite singer. In her interviews she always seems so humble and sweet like she doesn't even realize the icon she is all her fans lives like mine she has touched. Side note my middle name is Lisa and my closest friends who loved her music and knew i was her biggest fan would call me lisa lisa too. I'm' a Lisa Lisa fan forever!!!!😊😊❤❤🎉🎉🎉

Oh my gosh, we as supporters back then had NO idea. To think how she was everywhere and going through all of that through such a tough diagnosis. God bless her for having the strength to want to continue showing up for fans through her illness, we were none the wiser. 🌹❤‍🩹🌹
