the state of Minnesota had put not only money up for the museum to get them back back also threw in state of the art security system for the museum and I think potentially a 24/7 armed guard if the museum were to recover them. good deal. I don't think this is the kind of item where one shmuck Billioniare or god forbid Kim Kardashian should be allowed to privately own such an iconic and beloved piece of movie history.

The real ironic part of them being stolen is this; He said he thought the slippers had real rubies and that he had hoped to sell the gems. But when he learned the rubies were glass, he said he got rid of the slippers. YES HE THOUGHT THEY HAD REAL RUBIES, he didn't think the shoes themselves were worth anything, yes he was not to bright!

As a MASSIVE fan of the L. Frank Baum stories, I fully agree. Wicked and the MGM movies are awful in comparison. Wicked is the worst Oz anything I had ever read. Just give the world a proper telling of the books. I want Oz remade. Disney came close in 1985 but we need that plot point of Tip and Ozma.
