Some of the best comedies in the US are remade British ones -All in the Family, The Office, Shameless, etc…..Ghosts fits perfectly with them

I think Hetty and Isaac are such great friends for a couple of reasons. They are both repressing their true selves for the sake of propriety, and they're on a similar journey of growth. They are also from the closest time frame to each other; at most a hundred years apart but from culturally similar times. The only ghosts who precede them are Thorfinn and Sas, both of whom come from very different cultures and originally spoke different languages. (The British soldiers in the shed haven't been available to befriend. And we do not speak of the cholera victims dwelling in the cellar.)

I think the two ghosts closest to each other in terms of when they lived are Pete (1980's) and Trevor (1990's)

They’re also from the same social class and have the same values, if not similar personalities. Basically they’re both snooty upperclass rich elite who are struggling with keeping up appearances (Isaac’s sexuality and Hetty’s marriage). And whilst Pete and Trevor are closer in era, their personalities couldn’t be more different and Trevor even calls Pete nerdy sometimes, so they’re by no means as close as H and I are

In case anyone is curious, there are 8 Main Ghosts (Thorfinn, Sasappis, Isaac, Hetty, Alberta, Flower, Pete, & Trevor), & at least a dozen Minor Ghosts (Nygel & 2 British soldiers, Nancy & at least 5 Cholera victims, Elias, Molly, Crash, Stephanie, & Jessica) that currently or formally haunt the mansion the series takes place at.

I have some catching up to do on this show. Every time I see a snippet of it, it's hilarious, but since my wife isn't comfortable with the other-worldly premise, we end up changing the channel. One time I noticed a resemblance between the Victorian era socialite ghost on this show, and the scheming contemporary socialite on the "Devious Maids" show I've been watching on Hulu, and it turns out, that's the same actress. Both great comedies with well-drawn characters and diverse ensemble casts. This is my reminder to myself to add this show to my list on Paramount+.

I bought Paramount plus just to watch this show since I didn't catch but the tail end of S1 and most of S2 - Thurs nights are the best night of TV with Young Sheldon - and hardly watch anything else besides sports. Great writing, but the magic is how the characters express the writing - I hope it stays strong and continues for a while. There's a lot of life in the opportunities where the show can go.

When I saw the promos for Ghosts before the first season, I knew I had to watch because Rebecca is in it. I loved her when she was on Devious Maids. She's great on Ghosts. Hetty and Isaac are my favorite ghosts, but really all of them are so funny. I was glad the show featured more of Nigel this season. His and Isaac's romance is beautiful (and funny!). Another show with great characters is Animal Control. I sure hope it's renewed for season 2.

When I watched the first episode I gravitated to Isaac right away because if his time period. But I couldn't quite place the actor. Then it popped into my head! He was in Senior Year! He looked a little different but it was him. I haven't missed an episode since! ♥️♥️♥️ The show and cast!
