It greatly depends on the people you surround yourself with, but I think her emotional intelligence will serve her well resisting all those temptations. I don't doubt she will be able to deal with it gracefully (she puts so much thought into what her role is in society). I would certainly root for her if she runs for presidency... such a thoughtful, level-headed person.

So glad she got the opportunity to be seen and heard. We have so many people who, unfortunately, are never seen, heard, or discovered. Her mother did an excellent job raising her and exposing her to the arts and sciences at a young age. And kudos to Warren Wilson her mentor and the WriteGirl Program her mother enrolled her in. Her mother saw her potential and guided her forward. And thanks to Jill Biden for hearing her, remembering her, and asking her to do the phenomenal inauguration poem that touched us all to the core. I wrote for many years but was not afforded those opportunities so I am glad to see people moving forward. I hope to meet her one day and share some Spoken words together. I bid her Godspeed. Amazed and speechless...!!! That's how I was left when I first heard Amanda Gorman, the youngest American poet to recite a Presidential inaugural poem for President, Mr. Biden. In fact, being a Jordanian veteran bilingual English- Arabic Translation Specialist, I couldn't help but express my true admiration and appreciation of Miss Gorman's wealth of strong vocab. My admiration was motivated by my own love of poetry, & being attracted to special poets. Having heard those golden words she uttered, truly I felt am "more American" than Americans themselves; with such words as "pride, might, power, & the like. Long live Amanda Gorman. We agree on everything apart from the fact that you enjoy the way she performs her poems. Personally I don't , it feels overly theatrical and though theatrics can be skillful in her case they aren't. But really now we agree on the most important stuff here... this poetry is at best mediocre .
