Bob Simon first met the Lost Boys in a Kenyan refugee camp in 2001 after they had fled civil war in the Sudan. Some of the young men were relocated to the U.S. -- how are they doing now?

finding out he never went to med school but still studied the books and everything broke my heart. he still was trying to keep positive, saying that things happen. i hope he found some way to work in that field of study.

Amazing story not only about the strength of Sudanese men. but also the huge heart of American nation open to ocean of people who lost home, family, hope and future.

But the problem is they don't show the deadly weapons they send to those war turning place's in the world, or supporting oppressors like Israel who massacre kids and woman's. The same sun which melts wax hardens clay

Something about the broadcast really disturbed me. What ever happened to the sponsors of the young man that ended up in Kansas City. He had such great aspirations to become a doctor and yet was not given the opportunity to reach for his dream. It seems he was forgotten once again. Didn't we owe. It to him to continue to mentor him and protect him from harm. I do hope some people in Kansa City after seeing 60 Minutes will come to his aid.

Bless the souls of my fellow brothers who did not make the journey your suffering is over now. For the ones that did, don't forget you have the hearts of warriors you trudged through pretty much a battlefield and emerged standing tall. Don't stop believing.

I was happy to see the follow-up with Joseph finding his mother and talking to her. It seems like he has had a hard time. It’s so sad what those boys went through, so I think we all want to see an end to their suffering and loss.

Damn...I haven't cried in decades. But that reunion at the end got me....I am an immigrant myself and I can relate to that reunion. I haven't seen my grandma for almost 10 years but I do love her and miss her :)

At first I almost laughed because the life in the U.S.A of Joseph and Abraham are so diffrent. Abraham seems to be very succesfull, as Joseph got stabbed and you know... things happen. But at the end it was all good again. Joseph got a gift: The news that his mother is alive.

Beautiful story. It really sucks that we now have to be on our guard so much more than ever :( . So many deserving people in this world have to pay because of greedy, hateful and hell bound ass holes........ I would love to see more stories like this now.

God didnt stop their parents from being killed, from their country being torn apart by war, from their sisters being sold into slavery, so why is credit given to god that they made it out? People made that happen. If God got them out, he shouldve prevented all this from ever happening in the first place.

Just like it's possible to have millions of children starving every day in Africa, and that's just the start of it. How can god exist while these believers and good people die by the thousands because they simply have nothing to eat. Apparently god only exists only in the western world, because he sure as hell isn't in Africa or other third world countries.
