@@user-nk8yp4tu4n That's the beauty of democracy, where you can express your dislike of your leader. Kishida may not appeal to Japanese with his internal affairs and policies, however, his foreign policies are admired and respected globally The main purpose of a president or a prime minister, is foremost to deal with foreign and international affairs. We can forgive them for not doing nearly as well for internal affairs and national issues. These leaders are only humans, not gods.

Very strong speech from the Japanese Prime Minister. Unapologetically touting the shared values between the United States and Japan, especially freedom, liberty and democracy, and upholding them not only in our respective countries but around the world. It is so refreshing to hear the leader of a major country speak so forthrightly about his deep belief and commitment in our shared values. I hope the leaders of our nation hear his message and continue to stand firm in support of our allies and other nations who share or aspire to these ideals. The United States will be more secure and the world will be a better place if we remember who we are as a people and the values that our country was founded upon. History has taught us that everything that’s worthy, including peace, needs to be defended and at times requires sacrifice. Let us not forget that in this troubling times. Lastly I am grateful that Japan has been such a close friend and great ally of the United States over last many decades. And sometimes it takes a true friend to tell us what we need to hear.

I do not remember his exact words, but Ronald Regan once said that if the US does not stand up and protect democracy, there is no one else to take this role. We are the first and last line of defense against authoritarian and communism seeking to take away freedoms of people. It was nice to hear Japan recognize and voice their appreciation for the burden we carry to ensure peace and stability in the world. Make no mistake, if the US fails to ensure freedom for the world, we ourselves will lose our freedom.

It’s clear he seizes the opportunity. In front of the US Congress, Kishida represents and presents his country Japan very well using actual examples, personal touch, and a sense of humor. His previous Foreign Minister background really helps him.
