Single mom shares how inflation has changed her life

As inflation increases the cost of living, many families are finding themselves forced to quickly adapt to a new environment where their dollars don't go as far. Claudia Hernandez, a single mom, discussed the changes she has had to make for herself and her daughter, Isabella, in response to higher prices. While it's hard to cut back, Hernandez has done so with optimism for the future and has become resourceful with ways in which she is making sure she's taking care of her daughter and herself. She spoke with Anne-Marie Green and Vladimir Duthiers about how inflation has impacted her life and the lessons she's teaching her daughter about financial responsibility.

Went over 200 million people in America somewhere of starvation homelessness it's a sad day when people cannot afford to buy gasoline and food or shelter or clothing or even diapers and baby formula hundreds of millions of America the working class have become the poverty class the hunger of those people in the welfare system and food stamps and the hunger of those people on social security and disability

she obviously can but she's one of the many entitled sunbelt americans who refuse to deal with snow and live in modest areas like the midwest. For generations people moved to make better lives for themselves. People refuse to now and that is their cross to carry.

@@maria_caitlin , I can't blame her weather-wise I've lived in Central Illinois for all of my 68 years and I hate the winter. I just thought if she moved into a smaller house in the state she lives in that would help save some money mortgage and utility savings

@@yvonneplant9434 , Most can't or won't relocate because of families or jobs. If I had been raised in a warmer state I would probably have stayed put but I was raised in Central Illinois and I'm not going to move even though I hate the winters. This is where my family is located I quit my job in may of 2020 at the age of 66. My home is paid for and I just don't want the hassle of trying to pack everything up I have been trying to declutter but it's a slow process. When I bought my house 19 years ago I bought a small two bedroom full finished basement so the second bathroom is down there and another bedroom but that's not considered a legal bedroom in Illinois.
