I render MY Salute and Thankfulness to our Brothers-in-Arms and U.S. Army CPL Steven Cornford. I lost my immediate supervisor in uniform -- he was a curse to the enemy, my mentor and friend. It´s extremely difficult to let go, to live with and continue to blame yourself and others. There´s no cure to heal the grief and pain, period. Accept the circumstance and give thanks to God Allmighty, you are here among US today. Steven, You have made a difference in all of US. Thank You Brother. Respectfully (Retired, Gulf War Veteran, USAF) God Speed and may you shine always for all to witness.

What about the brave Afghan interpreters who fought alongside U.S. forces in Afghanistan? I served for five years with the United States military as a local interpreter on the front line in Afghanistan. A promised U.S. visa turned into a worse nightmare for me, left alone at the mercy of the enemy

I’m not saying it’s right or wrong that we left Afghanistan, but hearing stories like this and seeing it now makes you wonder if any of it was worth it?

God bless all our armed forces and to anyone and everyone that may or may not agree with the reasons and/or locations that they face, they are all heroic, simply following orders and just trying to stay alive for the Freedoms that we enjoy everyday.

As a former Infantry Marine I can see a story like this being outrageously hyped by the company commander and the platoon Lt. I remember guys in my platoon getting purple hearts and navy achievements medals for shit that wasn't even dangerous at all. Not to even mentioned the citations that accompanied those awards. So I'll take it with a grain of salt.
