Anyone debating if Trump or Biden is better at this point is not looking at the situation like this, and can't be convinced of this, because they don't see the threat which is Trump. Everyone pushing Biden to continue is failing to put themselves in the shoes of the swing voter. The then governor of NY claimed to have discussed such a strategy with Fauci, but now that Fauci's e-mails are public, no record of such a conversation exists. And in fact, a review of the CDC guidance in place at the time then Governor Cuomo rolled out _his_ policy shows that it was not aligned with CDC guidance. The CDC's guidance was to discharge COVID patients to long-term care facilities only when they were ready (i.e., sufficiently recovered), and only to long-term care facilities equipped to care for recovering COVID patients by implementing the necessary infection control procedures. That is a far cry from saying that "covid [sic] patients should be sent to nursing homes."
