a law should be passed if a person spends 30 years in jail for a crime they didn't commit should get $30M not 13M do this for all others inmate that get found not guilty and also start charging peoples for with holding key information charged them with tampering with evidence all cause they wanted get a conviction without sharing all the needed information.

@Insedio-b7
@Insedio-b7 Ай бұрын
Judges didn't put him there. First of all you have the law makers, second you have the crooked cops that arrested him, third you have D.A. the district attorney who even decided to go through with the charges. Then you have the jury who votes to have you convicted. The judge is the last person you should be angry at. 🤦 The judge is the only person not doing anything to him... The judge didn't arrest him, the judge didn't decide to go through with the charges, the judge wasn't sitting with the jury deciding if he was guilty or innocent. So what are you mad at the judge for? 🤦

@@Insedio-b7 So why is there even a judge in the courtroom?
@jeremiahtalkssports1832
@jeremiahtalkssports1832 Ай бұрын
@bustercrabbe8447 Judges don't go out planting evidence, and they don't charge people. They don't even decide if a person is guilty or innocent at trial. A jury does that. A judge keeps order and decides the punishment after the jury comes back with a verdict. So, the real criminals in this are thr police or detectives involved. The district attorney for going through with false charges. The prosecutor who didn't have real evidence, but still went through court with a case to convict him. Either none of them did their due diligence, or they just flat out lied just to charge somebody. The judge just sits in his seat. He isn't out in the streets. Now, if he appealed his conviction then whatever judge or judges looked at his appeal really only had the evidence presented to them, but they could've known that something was shady as well. We don't know that. I do feel bad for this guy. 30 years is a LONG time.
@bustercrabbe8447
@bustercrabbe8447 Ай бұрын
@@jeremiahtalkssports1832 1. Judges state out loud: "Not in my court" constantly and its documented on KZbin dozens of times. 2. Judges find defendants guilty without a trial. And the faulty decision can go to trial in the appeal. 3. A judge cannot overturn a jury's verdict of not guilty, But can overturn a jury's verdict of guilty when the judge is convinced the defendent is not guilty. This is called 'JURY NULLIFICATION" - 'Judgement non obstante veridictu' (J.N.O.V.) Judgement not withstanding the verdict!!! It is this power of Jury Nullification which makes totally accountable for the findings of THEIR COURT. If engineers, doctors, professors, accountants, jet pilots and all other members of the professions are held accountable, so much Judges!

The Brooklyn DA, Eric Gonzalez, is utterly INCOMPETENT. The DA offices in NYC get to make positive headlines about exonerations of obviously mishandled cases from 20+ years ago. What the media and the DAs office will continue to remain radio silent on is the fact that the DA is STILL, continuing to prosecute innocent people TODAY. For every conviction of an actual criminal who actually damaged the People of the State of NY, there are probably 10 innocent men and women unlawfully and wrongfully prosecuted by the same DA. NYC lawyers in the DA offices and the Law Department are some of the dumbest, so-called “professionals” you could ever have the displeasure of having to deal with.

This country's justice system is a disgrace. At year three of the prison sentence I wasn't even supposed to serve, I would've had a mental break down. He survived 30 years of false imprisonment.

False accusations and imprisonment in New York. Evidence was destroyed, people were threatened and forced to confess to something they did not do. I hope the real perpetrators of these crimes spent the 30 years having nightmares of their evil act.

There's just some things you can't repair.. A persons sense of freedom is like the air we breathe. So when your free will rights have been taken,It chokes your very being, especially if you know your innocent these crimes alleged against you. He had to endure that for 30 years. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏May God bless those who are now in his same situation to come out on the other end ,Unscathed ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This hurts bad. To know that a man lost most of his life and can never recover it is beyond heartbreaking. The system should be gutted and rebuilt. There is no way an innocent man should have served 3 years in prison let alone 30 for a crime he didn't commit. Like he said, "no amount of money can replace the time and peace that was ripped from him by a careless and corrupt system.

If he had his freedom during them nearly 30 yrs, there's no way to estimate a person's financial potential. He could of made up to 10 x more than the money the state or city rewarded him for his yrs of wrongful incarceration. At least 1M for each yr survived in that man made hell (prison) he was surviving in. Prison is ultimate fear factor game to participate in.

He better ? Who are you to tell a man that was wrongly accused of a crime and spent 30 years in prison that he BETTER do something. How about you focus on your life and do the things you SHOULD be doing. How are you to dictate what he better do. I don't hear you trying to hold NYC accountable. How about NYC better find the people who falsey accused this man. People like you make me sick. You have no compassion for this man. If you have nothing positive to say keep it moving.
