The first time I went to England I was so impressed by the courtesy of everyone I met! Have been back several times and continue to be impressed. As a matter of fact I have been to many different places and the most courteous people are the English and the Japanese. I came back from Japan bowing to everyone 😊.

So...a 16 year old child is getting lifesentence because she started a fire in order to escape the abuse she had to endure. Then, she tried to resue the victims while getting burned herself, but it was already too late. It's astaunishing! I'm not from the USA. But I can not imagine putting a CHILD in prison FOR LIFE, instead of giving her traumatherapy, while at the same time making her see the consequences of her action wich she (remember this) committed when she was only a child in danger. This is wrong on so many levels! This has nothing to do with serving justice and has nothing to do with protecting society from potential harm.

But it was not her intention to kill anyone, not even one person, and because she was a child, her brain could not oversee the consequences of her action. Every childs brain is undeveloped! Let alone the brain of a child who is ALSO being abused and traumatised. So I feel we have to take that in consideration. And I feel as adults, we also have to take responsibility for our fails to keep this kid protected and to prevent kids from doing things with fatal outcome.

Our sentencing is horrible. Solitary confinement is not the answer for behavioral issues!! Rehabilitation, school, job training. Someone getting out after 20 years clueless to world today and needs that necessary help to integrate back into society. We are setting them up for failure.

As human beings it's impossible not to feel sympathy for these people. Most seem like people you may befriend. But the fact is most of these criminals are manipulators and prey on the good will of people who trusted them. All of these documentaries should include interviews with their victims, or at least detailed accounts of their crimes, but that's never a part of any of this.
