And that is the reason why the city was raised... I want to say 24 ft, maybe just 12 ft but it was raised using fill dirt. They knew and they did nothing.!!!!

@ thank you Gavin Newson loves emergencies and disasters because it brings money to him so he can redirect the funding and silver line his pocket! he invents an ER that he has put on the back burner! He’s a poor governor and that’s an understatement! . Take the wildfires for example he was given funding to manage the the forest to redirects that funding.. he took the money away from the people which the funding was to go to to help them cut down dead trees in high fire areas, THEN opened up a campsite with campfires along the American river of the north Fork in El Dorado and Placer County. It is called the asra project. He literally eminent domain people’s property for his project that created more fires. All the wild people in foothill areas can’t get insurance, and the forest is laden with dead trees.! And no funding to remove them or clean them up he lined his pockets! that funding WAS reverted it to free healthcare to those who came across the border illegally WHILE WE HAVE VETERANS WHO ARE HOMELESS! now business owners are having to pay to the bill for his mismanagement of the Covid funding that too was redirected! no one has ever truly audited Gavin Newsom no one! to find out where he has spent this money from disaster to disaster to disaster. He has received relief funding, and yet California is so far in the hole that no one can get out of this debt. Our roads are pitted with potholes yet we pay high gas tax & dmv and a portion was supposed to go to filling the potholes yet they do not. It’s all a scam and he takes a situation that should’ve been addressed far before any disaster ever happened and calls it an emergency so he can get money that will never go to the emergency It was meant to! He was taught this by aunt Nancy Pelosi the master con artist!

I'd bet somewhere in your family tree someone was saying " horseless carriage what a joke that'll never catch on" lol or put another way think about eminent domain taking property from land owners with all the attorneys/courts fees and or paying land owners high prices for land and paying to move PG&E power lines to then take taxpayers dollars to add a single lane to the highway that's already choked and inefficient add to that emergency vehicles trying to navigate through that mess at different hours of the day and your waiting for them. The train has been & will be the cheapest way to solve the congestion of highways and move people around and worth mentioning the homes & businesses that'll spring up adjacent the tracks .

I know when I go to Bakersfield I want to be there NOW. Bakersfield is one of the most beautiful and cultural diverse cities in the state. There are smells, and tastes not found anywhere else in the world except in expensive tourist traps like San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles. So yes we need the highspeed train so people with busy lives can enjoy this taste of California in a more natural way and then return to their lives quickly.

And let's not forget the Gavin Newsom express won't make it to San Diego, a metro area of more than 3 million. I can fly from San Diego to that hotbed of cosmopolitan action Sacramento in about a half hour with an additional 1.5 hours of airport waiting, negating the need for a very expensive pork project. But who cares about time an money! I can take a slow train to that cesspit LA where I can get mugged waiting for my connection to Sacramento!! Maybe include a stop in Fresno for some cow tipping and pesticide huffing! Oh what glamour awaits!

The thing is Sherman Island isn't below sea level, it's just below wave level with no real place for the water to runoff. I know the island intimately, I used ot windsurf there and explored it over the years on the non windy days. So what happens if it floods is that it doesn't disappear or get completely lost, it just turns into a mud bog swamp. All the valuable real estate it up on the levees, or dirt mounds, but the road coming in from the Antioch side crosses the lowlands and it's not very built up at all. When I was a boy we lived in the Bay Area and had a cabin at Lake Tahoe and we used to have to drive through the streets of Sacto because there was no freeway at the time, except for winter 1970 when even Sacrament-o was flooded.
