No doubt this move by Saks is a response to the horrendous retail crime wave that has been hitting San Francisco for years now. The city’s responses to all the thefts has been so dismally inadequate that businesses are forced to either adopt radically new strategies or simply leave, as so many have done. The full blame for this syndrome lies with the people of San Francisco, who have elected the horrible government officials responsible for the situation. I really have no sympathy for them.

Much like the Home Depot where anti-theft measures include very high cameras outdoors that will record your license plates, and inside the store all of the very expensive items are LOCKED behind grids. In addition, some of the very expensive power tools will not start at all once you have toted your thievings to your home - unless they have been through a check-out.

Newsom has been very busy trying to block the repeal of prop 47. It was fraudulently presented to voters who were told that a teen who stole a Snickers could get the same sentence as someone who stole tens of thousands of merchandise and so prop 47 would make sure the little crimes were charged as misdemeanors. In reality, all retail theft has been classified as permissible in CA. Businesses are closing because they can't get help from law enforcement of CA courts. The politicians have forced the police to simply not get involved and when arrests are made in the bigger cases, the far left judges don't prosecute at all or give very light sentences this demonstrating that crime pays. This is a well orchestrated plan to destabilize cities in America to undermine our economy from the inside out. I assume that the facilitators like Newsom are paid by the global powers that be.

I feel like these out of touch executives are trying to make it feel exclusive and increase demand, but this is such a dumb idea. Saks carries expensive brands but there is nothing truly luxurious about this store or its experience.
