Not surprised given Kelly's poor performance against top 10 teams while at ND. The fact that Kelly's win percentage against top 10 teams at ND was only around 20% should have been a red flag for the LSU AD. Kelly always tried to excuse that as being at a recruiting disadvantage at ND but there are no such restrictions at LSU and LSU is as talented or more so than FSU this year. But FSU just has a better head coach and assistant coaches and it showed.

Kelly is also making the same mistakes at LSU that almost got him fired at ND after the 2016 season. That is some of the coaches he hired are buddies from previous stops. Kelly is comfortable with them but they probably aren't the best possible coaches that he could find. If LSU's offense plays like they did last night a few more times then I can see the entire offensive staff getting their pink slips by the end of the season.

As a Notre Dame fan, watching this game brought back some familiar things that used to frustrate me when Kelly coached. Not getting your points in big games. The questionable play calling. Always going for it on fourth down when unnecessary. Watching that game i thought, it wasn't a Notre Dame/recruiting issue, its you, you're costing the team the game. Having to catch up to get the game in OT or to when it because the points you left off hurt us in the end. LSU fans are finding that out real quick how Kelly can hurt the team at times.

I have several thoughts on this game: We knew the secondary was a question mark and they got exposed, key players didn't rise to the occasion (Perkins, Nabors and Burns were non-existent), the defensive disciple was very poor (several players trying to do other players jobs), the tackling needs to be much better. Offensively they didn't play bad but lots of missed big play opportunities. The running game is a huge liability and it is the result of interior offensive line play being inconsistent. Positive take aways the passing game was effective, the interior defensive line was extremely disruptive, Jayden Daniels and Mason Taylor both had good games. Adjustments: Perkins needs to be a pass rusher not a coverage backer, leverage your strength on the interior defensive line to create pressure in run and pass game, better play calling on offense, #14 is a huge liability in pass coverage (he got exposed the whole second half) and stop dropping 8 on 3rd and long.

One of the clearest examples of a team beating themselves ive ever seen. Bamas coordinator literally ran plays at the end of the game with one true lineman on the field . Obrien ran 5 wide empty backfield in goal line situations. They wasted Bryce youngs last year and i feel bad for the kid because he couldve been truly great. they never played to the teams strengths and LSU just happened to be in the right place at the right time. They got blown out by Tn and Texas Am. They were not very good. In fact, Kellys has already suffered 4 blowouts in basically one season.

I never believed in safe spaces until I was watching this game as an ND fan. The flashbacks and trauma came back. There is no f’ing way FSU is better than them. They had the lead at the half and somehow abandoned the run making the pass rush pretty elementary for FSU. They ran the ball 12 times out of 64 plays…wtf. You just upped draft stock for a number of Seminoles.

Dude I'm not trying to trash Notre Dame it was more of a shot at BK if anything. I honestly like what ND has shown so far this year and I like their coach now. I think that they are an elite program and are better off now than before. And I wasn't really viewing this game as an Arkansas fan but an SEC fan and I didn't like what I saw from the physicality standpoint. I don't need to explain what the SEC has done to the other conferences just look up the records against each of them. With that being said the transfer portal is going to change that because there is gonna be more depth for every team these super conferences are going to have. I also don't put a ton of stock in bowl games because of the holdouts and coaching changes but I'm not arguing that FSU shouldn't have won, just that it shouldn't have been a blowout. Both of those bowl games you referred to were at least close. I don't get mad when SEC teams lose I just don't like that BK put a soft team out on the field it is a bad look for are conference. One thing that jumps out from the coach's comments - he continually says "they". "THEY will have to work". "THEY will have to consider what type of team they want to be". While it is true that he started by saying that this was a failure of coaching... AS WELL... the gist of his commentary emphasized that it was "THEY" who lost this game.

LSU coach Brian Kelly said his team's 45-24 loss to Florida State on Sunday night was "a total failure," after a second-half collapse allowed the Seminoles to run away with the game. This guy is NOT the coach for LSU! He belongs in the BIG10 …..or a group of 5 conference. He was born in Everett, Massachusetts. He’s an east coat guy……coaching a mostly African-American Team. And just like Chip Kelly ( the former Oregon and current UCLA coach) who was born in Dover, New Hampshire, he doesn’t get, understand, or knows how to motivate talented African-American athletes. He has nothing in common with them! Brian Kelly’s news conferences ( just like at Notre Dame) when his teams lose are always negative, accusatory, blaming the players, and neither he nor his staff take responsibility. Kelly has a “Lamborghini” of a team…..and doesn’t know how to “drive it” or lead it. LSU came in ranked #5 . The team will probably go 7-5….8-4 at best under Kelly. Brian Kelly is to LSU what Clay Helton was to USC; then USC got Lincoln Riley. What LSU needs to do, after the season, is start a transition plan to go after coach Prime. No way should LSU have lost that game by 4 touchdowns (not taking anything away from Florida State). Kelly ain’t the one!
