Rich Rod won conference title in PC12 as well..he took max from 2A to 1A and a conference champ in 3 years..not sure why he was let go at AZ, it was after 10 wins and a title though..

@@TR-cp1fonot true. They did offer an extension but he wanted a zero buyout clause and a fully guaranteed contract. Wanted his cake and to eat it, too. He gambled and lost.

He didn't want to be there. Didn't treat the fans or college right and over played his hand. They had enough of his off the field issues.

@ I get all that. But he led Marshall to a conference championship. I feel like he could have gotten a better job, not make a lateral move to a worse program.

He thought he could get a better job too, that's why he didn't sign the contract extensions offered to him over the 4 years he was here. At the end of the 3rd year of his contract, he made a PR nightmare blaming fans in a press conference. The Administration asked to work with him this year on PR and other things. One of the stipulations was that he not actively search for new jobs during the season like he had the previous 3 years. He broke that contract when his agent contacted USM. From that moment on, the Administration chose to go another route. I'm glad he got us to the championship, but there was just too much baggage with him. Hopefully he learned from his mistakes in his first HC job and does well in Hattiesburg. I and 99% of MU fans are very happy with Gibson so far.

The coaching shuffle happens way too often, many schools and the local gentry have zero patience for the development and want a 10-win season right out of the box, I would hope for at least a 4-year period without forced expectations.

There’s so much more to it than that bub…there are violations and all kinds of other stuff that happens on the back side..including the inability to get along with people…

I am not as high on Matt Entz as you need to understand context. He saw his time coming to an end at NDSU due to under performance after winning with the Klieman's roster.

I think Bill tooo this job cause it doesn’t that NFL pressure. College is more loose and freely, you can actual really do it how you want with young players
