Please academy voters take her into consideration, she's beyond mesmerizing in Past Lives, one of the finest performances this year.

From what I've seen and read, she was destined to play this role. Initially it was offered to another actress and Celine then came back to her a year later. She's worked hard, paid her dues, and all of it led to this wonderful opportunity. Hopefully we'll see her in other great projects and roles where she can continue to impress us with her talent and skill as an actor.

Even though her role on Girls was small, you could tell there was something special about her. Lena Dunham was good at casting -- even peripheral characters had heart.

I loved this movie so much. I became sick during my trip to Los Angeles and had to take a beat by seating instead of working during my return flight. I watched the first 30 minutes before taking the rest and nap that I needed. And watched the last minutes of the movie and I cried at the end as Greta walked back to her husband. Wow, wow, wow that word "In-Yun" those words will never be forgotten. So beautiful portrait as you don't wanna hate her husband or even include him in this relationship and he wasn't even centered but everybody was in pain. She should have won an Emmy or Critics Choice Award well deserved! Beautiful movie and I will definitely watch it again!

Embarrassed to say I hadnt really seen some of her past stuff cause they weren't my type of shows so I really only got to know her from the movie, but she was phenomenal. Such a well crafted actor that it makes me want to see everything from her past that made her so amazing. This piece was also very well produced showcasing everything that she has done. I didn't know she was Broadway nor an MTV host. Look at all of these amazing opportunities and only now the world "discovers" her?! Congrats Greta!

I saw Past Lives last summer in theaters. I appreciated it as an uniquely Korean American/Canadian story & as an indie artistic film. So surprised to see it be recognized during awards season & getting more exposure. I hope Celine & Greta both get nods if not awards for their work.

I think it's a very universal story. And it's A24 which is like commercial indie, if that makes sense.

First of all, this bright talent is 40?!?! She looks 20 years younger! She is gorgeous! Second, her performance was gorgeous as well. It was superbly muted with amazing expression. I loved it! Lastly, I love that all those other established actresses were giving Ms. Lee opportunities to work and show her range, which is very difficult for an actress of color to get a chance to do. Good on them for supporting a fellow actress moving her way up the ranks. I wish Ms. Lee much success as she is wildly talented.

@Charlene_____10 ай бұрын
The character moves to the US at a young age, but nothing is mentioned whether her accent changed or not.
@lissandrafreljord791310 ай бұрын
@@Charlene_____ Oh okay. For me, when she says the word fate (인연 in -yeon) 1:40, she definitely sounds like she has an American accent (the N sound in Korean is different than in English), and when she calls him Haesung (1:56), Koreans would normally add the casual speech vocative case marker -a, so it would be more like Haesung-a. She sounds very Korean American otherwise. Also she sounds pretty monotone in this clip 1:59, almost as if her speech and facial expression don't match the emotions she is expressing with her words. But then again, English is generally a more monotone language than Korean.
