Another reviewer said the Pla13’s bass sounds like a DD. I disagree, while the bass is heavy, it’s of lower quality that’s sounds more like a cardboard. I also feel the entire spectrum has been pushed up making everything loud without the details. Surprisingly, it’s sound quality did not improve when used with Chord Mojo, just louder. I find my TA1 Max much more enjoyable with more extensions at both ends. Yes I would agree this is a missed opportunity perhaps because CCA was too eager to come out with something different. The one redeeming point is that surprisingly it doesn’t sound fatiguing while I have to put down the Max after going halfway through Niki Minaj’s album to avoid concussion, that doesn’t happen with the Pla13.

I don't have TA1 Max but I heard it was similar to ST5. TRN likes that signature apparently. Yeah, PLA13 is a bit frustrating and I am not sure if it was really rushed or if someone wanted to release a bass-heavy set. I just use EQ and it is more reasonable at both ends.

I hope you can also review the zs10 pro x

Big maybe on that one. I think the next planar and the next hybrid set will be more interesting.

I have it. I don't think it's bassy. I prefer KZ S10 Pro though. But KZ S10 Pro can be fatiguing sometimes. PLA13 is more gentle on the ears. Maybe I got a good set.

I talked a little bit about it, if your library doesn't hit the bass hard. it sounds fine as the mid-bass drops quickly in to the mids. Also that planar bass decay is different than a dynamic driver so having a bit extra is not as noticeable, but yeah, PLA13 in the general sense, is boosted a bit too much. If it works for you, it is a great bargain.

@@PaulWasabii PLA13 are not that much enjoyable to me anymore. They don't sound natural and now they sound muddy to me after a couple of weeks of use. Still love KZ ZS10 Pro.

I am going to be even more blunt than you. This IEM is a fricken hot mess. Not only is it so so bloated. The planar driver itself is slow to the point where I describe the speed as being stuck in the mud during an artic ice storm. It was the first time I told myself this thing is absolute waste of money. EQ might take some of the bloat out but the speed I swear is slower than any dynamic driver. I truly feel robbed!!!

Yeah it is boosted beyond the reasonable level which is on the higher side for planar, but too far. And I am guessing your music may hit it in just the wrong spot. As I said, not sure why they went down this path of building the planar driver and not showcasing what it can do even if it fell a bit short of the other more expensive planars.
