I have some beautiful stamperia pink Christmas papers. I’ve been wanting to make an album with and I wanted a very interactive one, that holds lots of photos but also shows off the paper and journaling cards. I bought my friend the same collection and I’m teaching her album making. This is the one! This is a lovely album that s exactly what I’ve been looking for. My friend and I will be making this together over the next few months. We will both be delighted I’m sure! Thank you!

Hi Lori. I love your tutorials. They are so well done and easy to follow. I have a question about the Small Flaps on Page 2 Front. On the video you say to cut them at 4 1/2 x 4 3/4 however the written instructions say to cut two pieces at 4 1/4 x 4 3/4. Which measurement is correct? Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

I was feeling in a bit of a crafting rut and you have totally inspired me to make a mini album!Currently starting a 6x6 Halloween album after watching your tutorial from a couple of years ago. Quick question though - do you normally decorate your pages before you attach to the spine of the album cover or after? Haven’t found a tutorial that shows the decorating and so wasn’t sure if attaching first was just for speed of tutorial or whether that’s how you would normally do it? Thank you.

Lori, is there a reason you didn’t do 5/8 inch gusset between all the hinges? I just did a small trial piece and it looks like there is room on the spine to accommodate the larger gussets.

I love this book and your tutorials are great. Questions for you: What weight cardstock do you use for your pages and do you think there is any advantage to using tape as well as glueing the pages?

Cheryl A Blagden I use 100lb cardstock when I can find it! I dont personally see any benefit to using tape and glue for the pages. I am so sold on Art Glitter glue that I feel like it’s enough for me. 🙂

Also I am not very good at doing the envelope punch out on the pocket pages and the getting my designer papers to match up with them. Do you have an tips?

I never was any good at it either until I got the envelope punch board and was able to punch it by measuring. What works for me is finding the middle measurement of the pocket and punching the paper at that measurement on the envelope punch board. I do the same when I am adding the pattern paper to the pocket. For example, if I have a pocket that is 4" wide, then I would line my paper on the 2" measurement on the punch board and punch my notch. Does that help at all?

Lori, thanks for this amazing tutorial! For your album’s base do you use heavy weight cardstock? If so, how many lb? Do you also use Art glitter glue for your albums or is it easier to use double sided tape?

I use 100lb cardstock for the album construction and the pages. I use art glitter glue for everything and have found that even double-sided tape like scor tape will come apart over time. I hope that helps!
